1 [For the choirmaster Tune: 'Do not destroy' Of David In a quiet voice When Saul sent men to watchDavid's house in order to have him killed] Rescue me from my enemies, my God, be my stronghold from myassailants,	1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ אַל־תַּשְׁחֵת לְדָוִד מִכְתָּם בִּשְׁלֹחַ שָׁאוּל וַיִּשְׁמְרוּ אֶת־הַבַּיִת לַהֲמִיתֹו
2 rescue me from evil-doers, from men of violence save me.	2 הַצִּילֵנִי מֵאֹיְבַי ׀ אֱלֹהָי מִּמִתְקֹומְמַי תְּשַׂגְּבֵנִי
3 Look at them, lurking to ambush me, violent men are attacking me, for no fault, no sin of mine,Yahweh,	3 הַצִּילֵנִי מִפֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן וּמֵאַנְשֵׁי דָמִים הֹושִׁיעֵנִי
4 for no guilt, they come running to take up position. Wake up, stand by me and keep watch,	4 כִּי הִנֵּה אָרְבוּ לְנַפְשִׁי יָגוּרוּ עָלַי עַזִים לֹא־פִשְׁעִי וְלֹא־חַטָּאתִי יְהוָה
5 Yahweh, God of Sabaoth, God of Israel, rise up, to punish al the nations, show no mercy to all thesemalicious traitors.Pause	5 בְּלִי־עָוֹן יְרוּצוּן וְיִכֹּונָנוּ עוּרָה לִקְרָאתִי וּרְאֵה
6 Back they come at nightfall, snarling like curs, prowling through the town.	6 וְאַתָּה יְהוָה־אֱלֹהִים ׀ צְבָאֹות אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הָקִיצָה לִפְקֹד כָּל־הַגֹּויִם אַל־תָּחֹן כָּל־בֹּגְדֵי אָוֶן סֶלָה
7 Look how they rant in speech with swords on their lips, 'Who is there to hear us?'	7 יָשׁוּבוּ לָעֶרֶב יֶהֱמוּ כַכָּלֶב וִיסֹובְבוּ עִיר
8 For your part, Yahweh, you laugh at them, you make mockery of all nations.	8 הִנֵּה ׀ יַבִּיעוּן בְּפִיהֶם חֲרָבֹות בְּשִׂפְתֹותֵיהֶם כִּי־מִי שֹׁמֵעַ
9 My strength, I keep my eyes fixed on you. For my stronghold is God,	9 וְאַתָּה יְהוָה תִּשְׂחַק־לָמֹו תִּלְעַג לְכָל־גֹּויִם
10 the God who loves me faithfully is coming to meet me, God will let me feast my eyes on those who liein wait for me.	10 עֻזֹּו אֵלֶיךָ אֶשְׁמֹרָה כִּי־אֱלֹהִים מִשְׂגַּבִּי
11 Do not annihilate them, or my people may forget; shake them in your power, bring them low, Lord,our shield.	11 אֱלֹהֵי [חַסְדֹּו כ] (חַסְדִּי ק) יְקַדְּמֵנִי אֱלֹהִים יַרְאֵנִי בְשֹׁרְרָי
12 Sin is in their mouths, sin on their lips, so let them be trapped in their pride for the curses and lies thatthey utter.	12 אַל־תַּהַרְגֵם ׀ פֶּן־יִשְׁכְּחוּ עַמִּי הֲנִיעֵמֹו בְחֵילְךָ וְהֹורִידֵמֹו מָגִנֵּנוּ אֲדֹנָי
13 Destroy them in your anger, destroy them til they are no more, and let it be known that God is Masterin Jacob and the whole wide world.Pause	13 חַטַּאת־פִּימֹו דְּבַר־שְׂפָתֵימֹו וְיִלָּכְדוּ בִגְאֹונָם וּמֵאָלָה וּמִכַּחַשׁ יְסַפֵּרוּ
14 Back they come at nightfal , snarling like curs, prowling through the town,	14 כַּלֵּה בְחֵמָה כַּלֵּה וְאֵינֵמֹו וְיֵדְעוּ כִּי־אֱלֹהִים מֹשֵׁל בְּיַעֲקֹב לְאַפְסֵי הָאָרֶץ סֶלָה
15 scavenging for something to eat, growling unless they have their fil .	15 וְיָשׁוּבוּ לָעֶרֶב יֶהֱמוּ כַכָּלֶב וִיסֹובְבוּ עִיר
16 And so I wil sing of your strength, in the morning acclaim your faithful love; you have been astronghold for me, a refuge when I was in trouble.	16 הֵמָּה [יְנוּעוּן כ] (יְנִיעוּן ק) לֶאֱכֹל אִם־לֹא יִשְׂבְּעוּ וַיָּלִינוּ
17 My strength, I wil make music for you, for my stronghold is God, the God who loves me faithful y.	17 וַאֲנִי ׀ אָשִׁיר עֻזֶּךָ וַאֲרַנֵּן לַבֹּקֶר חַסְדֶּךָ כִּי־הָיִיתָ מִשְׂגָּב לִי וּמָנֹוס בְּיֹום צַר־לִי
	18 עֻזִּי אֵלֶיךָ אֲזַמֵּרָה כִּי־אֱלֹהִים מִשְׂגַּבִּי אֱלֹהֵי חַסְדִּי
	19 וְיִירְאוּ מִמַּעֲרָב אֶת־שֵׁם יְהוָה וּמִמִּזְרַח־שֶׁמֶשׁ אֶת־כְּבֹודֹו כִּי־יָבֹוא כַנָּהָר צָר רוּחַ יְהוָה נֹסְסָה בֹו
	20 וּבָא לְצִיֹּון גֹּואֵל וּלְשָׁבֵי פֶשַׁע בְּיַעֲקֹב נְאֻם יְהוָה
	21 וַאֲנִי זֹאת בְּרִיתִי אֹותָם אָמַר יְהוָה רוּחִי אֲשֶׁר עָלֶיךָ וּדְבָרַי אֲשֶׁר־שַׂמְתִּי בְּפִיךָ לֹא־יָמוּשׁוּ מִפִּיךָ וּמִפִּי זַרְעֲךָ וּמִפִּי זֶרַע זַרְעֲךָ אָמַר יְהוָה מֵעַתָּה וְעַד־עֹולָם׃ ס
