Psalms 52

NEW JERUSALEM	LXX
1 [For the choirmaster Poem Of David When Doeg the Edomite went and warned Saul, 'David has goneto Abimelech's house'] Why take pride in being wicked, you champion in vil ainy, al day long	1 εις το τελος υπερ μαελεθ συνεσεως τω δαυιδ
2 plotting crime? Your tongue is razor-sharp, you artist in perfidy.	2 ειπεν αφρων εν καρδια αυτου ουκ εστιν θεος διεφθαρησαν και εβδελυχθησαν εν ανομιαις ουκ εστιν ποιων αγαθον
3 You prefer evil to good, lying to uprightness. Pause	3 ο θεος εκ του ουρανου διεκυψεν επι τους υιους των ανθρωπων του ιδειν ει εστιν συνιων η εκζητων τον θεον
4 You revel in destructive talk, treacherous tongue!	4 παντες εξεκλιναν αμα ηχρεωθησαν ουκ εστιν ποιων αγαθον ουκ εστιν εως ενος
5 That is why God wil crush you, destroy you once and for all, snatch you from your tent, uproot youfrom the land of the living.Pause	5 ουχι γνωσονται παντες οι εργαζομενοι την ανομιαν οι εσθοντες τον λαον μου βρωσει αρτου τον θεον ουκ επεκαλεσαντο
6 The upright wil be awestruck as they see it, they wil mock him,	6 εκει φοβηθησονται φοβον ου ουκ ην φοβος οτι ο θεος διεσκορπισεν οστα ανθρωπαρεσκων κατησχυνθησαν οτι ο θεος εξουδενωσεν αυτους
7 'So much for someone who would not place his reliance in God, but relied on his own great wealth,and made himself strong by crime.'	7 τις δωσει εκ σιων το σωτηριον του ισραηλ εν τω επιστρεψαι κυριον την αιχμαλωσιαν του λαου αυτου αγαλλιασεται ιακωβ και ευφρανθησεται ισραηλ
8 But I, like a flourishing olive tree in the house of God, put my trust in God's faithful love, for ever andever.
9 I shal praise you for ever for what you have done, and shal trust in your name, so ful of goodness, inthe presence of your faithful.
