NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 [For the choirmaster For flutes Psalm Of David] Give ear to my words, Yahweh, spare a thought for mysighing.	1 Salmo di Davide, dato al capo de’ Musici, in su Nehilot PORGI l’orecchio alle mie parole, o Signore; Intendi la mia meditazione.
2 Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God! To you I pray,	2 Re mio, e Dio mio, attendi alla voce del mio grido; Perciocchè io t’indirizzo la mia orazione.
3 Yahweh. At daybreak you hear my voice; at daybreak I lay my case before you and fix my eyes on you.	3 Signore, ascolta da mattina la mia voce; Da mattina io ti spiego i miei desii, e sto aspettando.
4 You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil, no sinner can be your guest.	4 Perciocchè tu non sei un Dio che prenda piacere nell’empietà; Il malvagio non può dimorar teco.
5 Boasters cannot stand their ground under your gaze. You hate evil-doers,	5 Gl’insensati non possono comparir davanti agli occhi tuoi; Tu odii tutti gli operatori d’iniquità.
6 liars you destroy; the violent and deceitful Yahweh detests.	6 Tu farai perire tutti quelli che parlano con menzogna; Il Signore abbomina l’uomo di sangue e di frode
7 But, so great is your faithful love, I may come into your house, and before your holy temple bow down inreverence of you.	7 Ma io, per la grandezza della tua benignità, entrerò nella tua Casa, E adorerò verso il Tempio della tua santità, nel tuo timore.
8 In your saving justice, Yahweh, lead me, because of those who lie in wait for me; make your way plainbefore me.	8 Signore, guidami per la tua giustizia, per cagion de’ miei insidiatori; Addirizza davanti a me la tua via.
9 Not a word from their lips can be trusted, through and through they are destruction, their throats arewide -- open graves, their tongues seductive.	9 Perciocchè nella bocca loro non v’è dirittura alcuna; L’interior loro non è altro che malizie; La lor gola è un sepolcro aperto, Lusingano colla lor lingua.
10 Lay the guilt on them, God, make their intrigues their own downfal ; for their countless offences, thrustthem from you, since they have rebel ed against you.	10 Condannali, o Dio; Scadano da’ lor consigli; Scacciali per la moltitudine de’ lor misfatti; Perciocchè si son ribellati contro a te.
11 But joy for al who take refuge in you, endless songs of gladness! You shelter them, they rejoice inyou, those who love your name.	11 E rallegrinsi tutti quelli che si confidano in te, E cantino in eterno, e sii lor protettore; E festeggino in te Quelli che amano il tuo Nome.
12 It is you who bless the upright, Yahweh, you surround them with favour as with a shield.	12 Perciocchè tu, Signore, benedirai il giusto; Tu l’intornierai di benevolenza, come d’uno scudo
