NEW JERUSALEMNOVA VULGATA
1 [For the choirmaster Of the servant of Yahweh Of David] Sin is the oracle of the wicked in the depthsof his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes.1 Magistro chori. David, servi Domini.
2 He sees himself with too flattering an eye to detect and detest his guilt;2 Susurrat iniquitas ad impium in medio cordis eius;
non est timor Dei ante oculos eius.
3 al he says is malicious and deceitful, he has turned his back on wisdom. To get his way3 Quoniam blanditur ipsi in conspectu eius,
ut non inveniat iniquitatem suam et oderit.
4 he hatches malicious plots even in his bed; once set on his evil course no wickedness is too much forhim.4 Verba oris eius iniquitas et dolus,
desiit intellegere, ut bene ageret.
5 Yahweh, your faithful love is in the heavens, your constancy reaches to the clouds,5 Iniquitatem meditatus est in cubili suo,
astitit omni viae non bonae,
malitiam autem non odivit.
6 your saving justice is like towering mountains, your judgements like the mighty deep. Yahweh, yousupport both man and beast;6 Domine, in caelo misericordia tua,
et veritas tua usque ad nubes;
7 how precious, God, is your faithful love. So the children of Adam take refuge in the shadow of yourwings.7 iustitia tua sicut montes Dei,
iudicia tua abyssus multa:
homines et iumenta salvabis, Domine.
8 They feast on the bounty of your house, you let them drink from your delicious streams;8 Quam pretiosa misericordia tua, Deus!
Filii autem hominum in tegmine alarum tuarum sperabunt;
9 in you is the source of life, by your light we see the light.9 inebriabuntur ab ubertate domus tuae,
et torrente voluptatis tuae potabis eos.
10 Maintain your faithful love to those who acknowledge you, and your saving justice to the honest ofheart.10 Quoniam apud te est fons vitae,
et in lumine tuo videbimus lumen.
11 Do not let the foot of the arrogant overtake me or wicked hands drive me away.11 Praetende misericordiam tuam scientibus te
et iustitiam tuam his, qui recto sunt corde.
12 There they have fallen, the evil-doers, flung down, never to rise again.12 Non veniat mihi pes superbiae,
et manus peccatoris non moveat me.
13 Ibi ceciderunt, qui operantur iniquitatem,
expulsi sunt nec potuerunt stare.
