NEW JERUSALEMNEW AMERICAN BIBLE
[For the choirmaster Of the servant of Yahweh Of David] Sin is the oracle of the wicked in the depthsof his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes.1 For the leader. Of David, the servant of the LORD.
He sees himself with too flattering an eye to detect and detest his guilt;2 Sin directs the heart of the wicked; their eyes are closed to the fear of God.
al he says is malicious and deceitful, he has turned his back on wisdom. To get his way3 For they live with the delusion: their guilt will not be known and hated.
he hatches malicious plots even in his bed; once set on his evil course no wickedness is too much forhim.4 Empty and false are the words of their mouth; they have ceased to be wise and do good.
Yahweh, your faithful love is in the heavens, your constancy reaches to the clouds,5 In their beds they hatch plots; they set out on a wicked way; they do not reject evil.
your saving justice is like towering mountains, your judgements like the mighty deep. Yahweh, yousupport both man and beast;6 LORD, your love reaches to heaven; your fidelity, to the clouds.
how precious, God, is your faithful love. So the children of Adam take refuge in the shadow of yourwings.7 Your justice is like the highest mountains; your judgments, like the mighty deep; all living creatures you sustain, LORD.
They feast on the bounty of your house, you let them drink from your delicious streams;8 How precious is your love, O God! We take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
in you is the source of life, by your light we see the light.9 We feast on the rich food of your house; from your delightful stream you give us drink.
Maintain your faithful love to those who acknowledge you, and your saving justice to the honest ofheart.10 For with you is the fountain of life, and in your light we see light.
Do not let the foot of the arrogant overtake me or wicked hands drive me away.11 Continue your kindness toward your friends, your just defense of the honest heart.
There they have fallen, the evil-doers, flung down, never to rise again.12 Do not let the foot of the proud overtake me, nor the hand of the wicked disturb me.
There make the evildoers fall; thrust them down, never to rise.
