1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David] In you, Yahweh, I have taken refuge, let me never be put toshame, in your saving justice deliver me, rescue me,	1 Magistro chori. Psalmus. David.
2 turn your ear to me, make haste. Be for me a rock-fastness, a fortified citadel to save me.	2 In te, Domine, speravi, non confundar in aeternum; in iustitia tua libera me.
3 You are my rock, my rampart; true to your name, lead me and guide me!	3 Inclina ad me aurem tuam, accelera, ut eruas me. Esto mihi in rupem praesidii et in domum munitam, ut salvum me facias.
4 Draw me out of the net they have spread for me, for you are my refuge;	4 Quoniam fortitudo mea et refugium meum es tu et propter nomen tuum deduces me et pasces me.
5 to your hands I commit my spirit, by you have I been redeemed. God of truth,	5 Educes me de laqueo, quem absconderunt mihi, quoniam tu es fortitudo mea.
6 you hate those who serve useless idols; but my trust is in Yahweh:	6 In manus tuas commendo spiritum meum; redemisti me, Domine, Deus veritatis.
7 I will delight and rejoice in your faithful love! You, who have seen my misery, and witnessed themiseries of my soul,	7 Odisti observantes vanitates supervacuas, ego autem in Domino speravi.
8 have not handed me over to the enemy, but have given me freedom to roam at large.	8 Exsultabo et laetabor in misericordia tua, quoniam respexisti humilitatem meam; agnovisti necessitates animae meae
9 Take pity on me, Yahweh, for I am in trouble. Vexation is gnawing away my eyes, my soul deep within me.	9 nec conclusisti me in manibus inimici; statuisti in loco spatioso pedes meos.
10 For my life is worn out with sorrow, and my years with sighs. My strength gives way under my misery,and my bones are al wasted away.	10 Miserere mei, Domine, quoniam tribulor; conturbatus est in maerore oculus meus, anima mea et venter meus.
11 The sheer number of my enemies makes me contemptible, loathsome to my neighbours, and myfriends shrink from me in horror. When people see me in the street they take to their heels.	11 Quoniam defecit in dolore vita mea, et anni mei in gemitibus; infirmata est in paupertate virtus mea, et ossa mea contabuerunt.
12 I have no more place in their hearts than a corpse, or something lost.	12 Apud omnes inimicos meos factus sum opprobrium et vicinis meis valde et timor notis meis: qui videbant me foras, fugiebant a me.
13 Al I hear is slander -- terror wherever I turn -- as they plot together against me, scheming to take mylife.	13 Oblivioni a corde datus sum tamquam mortuus; factus sum tamquam vas perditum.
14 But my trust is in you, Yahweh; I say, 'You are my God,'	14 Quoniam audivi vituperationem multorum: horror in circuitu; in eo dum convenirent simul adversum me, auferre animam meam consiliati sunt.
15 every moment of my life is in your hands, rescue me from the clutches of my foes who pursue me;	15 Ego autem in te speravi, Domine; dixi: “ Deus meus es tu,
16 let your face shine on your servant, save me in your faithful love.	16 in manibus tuis sortes meae ”. Eripe me de manu inimicorum meorum et a persequentibus me;
17 I cal on you, Yahweh, so let disgrace fal not on me, but on the wicked. Let them go down to Sheol insilence,	17 illustra faciem tuam super servum tuum, salvum me fac in misericordia tua.
18 muzzles on their lying mouths, which speak arrogantly against the upright in pride and contempt.	18 Domine, non confundar, quoniam invocavi te; erubescant impii et obmutescant in inferno.
19 Yahweh, what quantities of good things you have in store for those who fear you, and bestow onthose who make you their refuge, for al humanity to see.	19 Muta fiant labia dolosa, quae loquuntur adversus iustum proterva in superbia et in abusione.
20 Safe in your presence you hide them, far from human plotting, shielding them in your tent, far fromcontentious tongues.	20 Quam magna multitudo dulcedinis tuae, Domine, quam abscondisti timentibus te. Perfecisti eis, qui sperant in te, in conspectu filiorum hominum.
21 Blessed be Yahweh who works for me miracles of his faithful love (in a fortified city)!	21 Abscondes eos in abscondito faciei tuae a conturbatione hominum; proteges eos in tabernaculo a contradictione linguarum.
22 In a state of terror I cried, 'I have been cut off from your sight!' Yet you heard my plea for help when Icried out to you.	22 Benedictus Dominus, quoniam mirificavit misericordiam suam mihi in civitate munita.
23 Love Yahweh, al his faithful: Yahweh protects his loyal servants, but he repays the arrogant withinterest.	23 Ego autem dixi in trepidatione mea: “ Praecisus sum a conspectu oculorum tuorum ”. Verumtamen exaudisti vocem orationis meae, dum clamarem ad te.
24 Be brave, take heart, al who put your hope in Yahweh.	24 Diligite Dominum, omnes sancti eius: fideles conservat Dominus et retribuit abundanter facientibus superbiam.
	25 Viriliter agite, et confortetur cor vestrum, omnes, qui speratis in Domino.
