Psalms 21

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David] Yahweh, the king rejoices in your power; How your saving helpfills him with joy!	1 Ao mestre de canto. Salmo de Davi. Senhor, alegra-se o rei com o vosso poder, e muito exulta com o vosso auxílio!
2 You have granted him his heart's desire, not denied him the prayer of his lips.Pause	2 Realizastes os anseios de seu coração, não rejeitastes a prece de seus lábios.
3 For you come to meet him with blessings of prosperity, put a crown of pure gold on his head.	3 Com preciosas bênçãos fostes-lhe ao encontro, pusestes-lhe na cabeça coroa de puríssimo ouro.
4 He has asked for life, you have given it him, length of days for ever and ever.	4 Ele vos pediu a vida, vós lha concedestes, uma vida cujos dias serão eternos.
5 Great his glory through your saving help; you invest him with splendour and majesty.	5 Grande é a sua glória, devida à vossa proteção; vós o cobristes de majestade e esplendor.
6 You confer on him everlasting blessings, you gladden him with the joy of your presence.	6 Sim, fizestes dele o objeto de vossas eternas bênçãos, de alegria o cobristes com a vossa presença,
7 For the king puts his trust in Yahweh; the faithful love of the Most High wil keep him from fal ing.	7 pois o rei confiou no Senhor. Graças ao Altíssimo não será abalado.
8 Your hand wil reach all your enemies, your right hand al who hate you.	8 Que tua mão, ó rei, apanhe teus inimigos, que tua mão atinja os que te odeiam.
9 You will hurl them into a blazing furnace on the day when you appear; Yahweh wil engulf them in his anger, and fire wil devour them.	9 Tu os tornarás como fornalha ardente, quando apareceres diante deles. Que o Senhor em sua cólera os consuma, e que o fogo os devore.
10 You wil purge the earth of their descendants, the human race of their posterity.	10 Faze desaparecer da terra a posteridade deles e a sua descendência dentre os filhos dos homens.
11 They have devised evil against you but, plot as they may, they will not succeed,	11 Se intentarem fazer-te mal, tramando algum plano, não o conseguirão,
12 since you will make them turn tail, by shooting your arrows in their faces.	12 porque os porás em fuga, dirigindo teu arco contra a face deles.
13 Rise, Yahweh, in your power! We wil sing and make music in honour of your strength.	13 Erguei-vos, Senhor, em vossa potência! Cantaremos e celebraremos o vosso poder.
