1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David] Yahweh, the king rejoices in your power; How your saving helpfills him with joy!	1 Au maître de chant. Psaume de David.
2 You have granted him his heart's desire, not denied him the prayer of his lips.Pause	2 Seigneur, ta puissance fait la joie du roi: tu lui promets le succès: quel bonheur!
3 For you come to meet him with blessings of prosperity, put a crown of pure gold on his head.	3 Tu lui as accordé ce qu’il souhaitait, tu n’as pas refusé ce qu’il te demandait.
4 He has asked for life, you have given it him, length of days for ever and ever.	4 Tu viens à lui avec de bonnes bénédictions toi qui places sur sa tête une couronne d’or.
5 Great his glory through your saving help; you invest him with splendour and majesty.	5 Il te demandait la vie: tu la lui donnes, un grand nombre de jours, beaucoup, beaucoup d’années.
6 You confer on him everlasting blessings, you gladden him with the joy of your presence.	6 Grâce à toi il aura la gloire, car tu le feras réussir; tu lui accordes honneur et majesté.
7 For the king puts his trust in Yahweh; the faithful love of the Most High wil keep him from fal ing.	7 Tu l’as béni pour la suite des temps, ta présence déjà fait sa joie.
8 Your hand wil reach all your enemies, your right hand al who hate you.	8 Le roi se confie dans le Seigneur, par la grâce du Très-Haut il ne faiblira pas.
9 You will hurl them into a blazing furnace on the day when you appear; Yahweh wil engulf them in his anger, and fire wil devour them.	9 Oui, ta main atteindra ton ennemi, tes armes sauront trouver ceux qui te haïssent.
10 You wil purge the earth of their descendants, the human race of their posterity.	10 Dès que tu parais, ils sont comme l’herbe au four: le Seigneur dans sa colère les dévorera comme un feu.
11 They have devised evil against you but, plot as they may, they will not succeed,	11 Tu enlèveras de la terre leur race, et leur semence disparaîtra d’entre les hommes.
12 since you will make them turn tail, by shooting your arrows in their faces.	12 S’ils te cherchent du mal, s’ils font des plans contre toi, ils ne pourront rien.
13 Rise, Yahweh, in your power! We wil sing and make music in honour of your strength.	13 Quand tu banderas face à eux la corde de l’arc, tu leur feras tourner le dos.
	14 Lève-toi, Seigneur, montre ta puissance, et nous jouerons, nous chanterons ta vaillance.
