Psalms 21

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David] Yahweh, the king rejoices in your power; How your saving helpfills him with joy!	1 Du maître de chant. Psaume de David.
2 You have granted him his heart's desire, not denied him the prayer of his lips.Pause	2 En ta force, Yahvé, le roi se réjouit; combien ton salut le comble d'allégresse!
3 For you come to meet him with blessings of prosperity, put a crown of pure gold on his head.	3 Tu lui as accordé le désir de son coeur, tu n'as point refusé le souhait de ses lèvres.
4 He has asked for life, you have given it him, length of days for ever and ever.	4 Car tu l'as prévenu de bénédictions de choix, tu as mis sur sa tête une couronne d'or fin;
5 Great his glory through your saving help; you invest him with splendour and majesty.	5 tu lui as accordé la vie qu'il demandait, longueur de jours, encore et à jamais.
6 You confer on him everlasting blessings, you gladden him with the joy of your presence.	6 Grande gloire lui fait ton salut, tu as mis sur lui le faste et l'éclat;
7 For the king puts his trust in Yahweh; the faithful love of the Most High wil keep him from fal ing.	7 oui, tu l'établis en bénédiction pour toujours, tu le réjouis de bonheur près de ta face;
8 Your hand wil reach all your enemies, your right hand al who hate you.	8 oui, le roi se confie en Yahvé, la grâce du Très-Haut le garde du faux pas.
9 You will hurl them into a blazing furnace on the day when you appear; Yahweh wil engulf them in his anger, and fire wil devour them.	9 Ta main trouvera tous tes adversaires, ta droite trouvera tes ennemis;
10 You wil purge the earth of their descendants, the human race of their posterity.	10 tu feras d'eux une fournaise au jour de ta face, Yahvé les engloutira dans sa colère, le feu lesavalera;
11 They have devised evil against you but, plot as they may, they will not succeed,	11 leur fruit, tu l'ôteras de la terre, leur semence, d'entre les fils d'Adam.
12 since you will make them turn tail, by shooting your arrows in their faces.	12 Ils ont poussé sur toi le malheur, mûri un plan: ils ne pourront rien.
13 Rise, Yahweh, in your power! We wil sing and make music in honour of your strength.	13 Oui, tu leur feras tourner le dos, sur eux tu ajusteras ton arc.
	14 Lève-toi, Yahvé, dans ta force! Nous chanterons, nous jouerons pour ta vaillance.
