Psalms 127

NEW JERUSALEM	STUTTGARTENSIA-DELITZSCH
1 [Song of Ascents Of Solomon] If Yahweh does not build a house in vain do its builders toil. If Yahwehdoes not guard a city in vain does its guard keep watch.	1 שִׁיר הַמַּעֲלֹות לִשְׁלֹמֹה אִם־יְהוָה ׀ לֹא־יִבְנֶה בַיִת שָׁוְא ׀ עָמְלוּ בֹונָיו בֹּו אִם־יְהוָה לֹא־יִשְׁמָר־עִיר שָׁוְא ׀ שָׁקַד שֹׁומֵר
2 In vain you get up earlier, and put off going to bed, sweating to make a living, since it is he whoprovides for his beloved as they sleep.	2 שָׁוְא לָכֶם ׀ מַשְׁכִּימֵי קוּם מְאַחֲרֵי־שֶׁבֶת אֹכְלֵי לֶחֶם הָעֲצָבִים כֵּן יִתֵּן לִידִידֹו שֵׁנָא
3 Sons are a birthright from Yahweh, children are a reward from him.	3 הִנֵּה נַחֲלַת יְהוָה בָּנִים כָר פְּרִי הַבָּטֶן
4 Like arrows in a warrior's hand are the sons you father when young.	4 כְּחִצִּים בְּיַד־גִּבֹּור כֵּן בְּנֵי הַנְּעוּרִים
5 How blessed is the man who has fil ed his quiver with them; in dispute with his enemies at the citygate he wil not be worsted.	5 אַשְׁרֵי הַגֶּבֶר אֲשֶׁר מִלֵּא אֶת־אַשְׁפָּתֹו מֵהֶם לֹא־יֵבֹשׁוּ כִּי־יְדַבְּרוּ אֶת־אֹויְבִים בַּשָּׁעַר
