Psalms 127

1 [Song of Ascents Of Solomon] If Yahweh does not build a house in vain do its builders toil. If Yahwehdoes not guard a city in vain does its guard keep watch.	1 A Canticle in steps. Blessed are all those who fear the Lord, who walk in his ways.
2 In vain you get up earlier, and put off going to bed, sweating to make a living, since it is he whoprovides for his beloved as they sleep.	2 For you will eat by the labors of your hands. Blessed are you, and it will be well with you.
3 Sons are a birthright from Yahweh, children are a reward from him.	3 Your wife is like an abundant vine on the sides of your house. Your sons are like young olive trees surrounding your table.
4 Like arrows in a warrior's hand are the sons you father when young.	4 Behold, so will the man be blessed who fears the Lord.
5 How blessed is the man who has fil ed his quiver with them; in dispute with his enemies at the citygate he wil not be worsted.	5 May the Lord bless you from Zion, and may you see the good things of Jerusalem, all the days of your life.
	6 And may you see the sons of your sons. Peace be upon Israel.
