NEW JERUSALEMVULGATA
1 Al eluia! How blessed is anyone who fears Yahweh, who delights in his commandments!1 Alleluja. Laudate, pueri, Dominum ;
laudate nomen Domini.
2 His descendants shal be powerful on earth, the race of the honest shal receive blessings:2 Sit nomen Domini benedictum
ex hoc nunc et usque in sæculum.
3 Riches and wealth for his family; his uprightness stands firm for ever.3 A solis ortu usque ad occasum
laudabile nomen Domini.
4 For the honest he shines as a lamp in the dark, generous, tender-hearted, and upright.4 Excelsus super omnes gentes Dominus,
et super cælos gloria ejus.
5 Al goes wel for one who lends generously, who is honest in al his dealing;5 Quis sicut Dominus Deus noster, qui in altis habitat,
6 for al time to come he wil not stumble, for al time to come the upright wil be remembered.6 et humilia respicit in cælo et in terra ?
7 Bad news holds no fears for him, firm is his heart, trusting in Yahweh.7 Suscitans a terra inopem,
et de stercore erigens pauperem :
8 His heart held steady, he has no fears, til he can gloat over his enemies.8 ut collocet eum cum principibus,
cum principibus populi sui.
9 To the needy he gives without stint, his uprightness stands firm for ever; his reputation is founded onstrength.9 Qui habitare facit sterilem in domo,
matrem filiorum lætantem.
10 The wicked are vexed at the sight, they grind their teeth and waste away. The desires of the wickedwil be frustrated.
