Job 35

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Elihu continued his speech. He said:	1 ED Elihu proseguì il suo ragionamento, e disse:
2 Do you think you can prove yourself upright and establish your uprightness before God	2 Hai tu stimato che ciò convenga alla ragione, Della quale tu hai detto: La mia giustizia è da Dio,
3 by daring to say to him, 'What does it matter to you, or how does it benefit me, whether I have sinnedor not?'	3 Di dire: Che mi gioverà ella? Che profitto ne avrò più che del mio peccato?
4 Very well, I shal tel you and your friends as wel .	4 Io ti risponderò, Ed a’ tuoi compagni teco.
5 Take a look at the skies and see, observe how high the clouds are above you.	5 Riguarda i cieli, e vedi; E mira le nuvole, quanto sono più alte di te.
6 If you sin, how can you affect him? If you heap up crimes, what effect has it on him?	6 Se tu pecchi, che cosa opererai tu contro a lui? E se i tuoi misfatti son moltiplicati, che gli farai tu?
7 If you are upright, what do you give him, what benefit does he receive at your hands?	7 Se tu sei giusto, che cosa gli darai? Ovvero che prenderà egli dalla tua mano?
8 Your wickedness affects only your fel ows, your uprightness, other human beings.	8 Come la tua malvagità può nuocer solo ad un uomo simile a te, Così anche la tua giustizia non può giovare se non ad un figliuolo d’uomo
9 They too groan under the weight of oppression, they cry for help under the tyranny of the mighty,	9 Gli oppressati gridano per la grandezza dell’oppressione, E dànno alte strida per la violenza de’ grandi;
10 but none of them thinks of saying, 'Where is God, my Maker, who makes glad songs ring out at night,	10 Ma niuno dice: Ove è Dio, mio fattore, Il quale dà materia di cantar di notte?
11 who has made us more intel igent than wild animals wiser than birds in the sky?'	11 Il qual ci ammaestra più che le bestie della terra, E ci rende savi più che gli uccelli del cielo?
12 Cry they may, but get no answer, to be spared from the arrogance of the wicked.	12 Quivi adunque gridano, ed egli non li esaudisce, Per la superbia de’ malvagi.
13 Of course God does not listen to trivialities, Shaddai pays no attention to them.	13 Certamente Iddio non esaudisce la vanità, E l’Onnipotente non la riguarda
14 And how much less when you say, 'I cannot see him, my case is open and I am waiting for him.'	14 Quanto meno esaudirà egli te, che dici che tu nol riguardi? Giudicati nel suo cospetto, e poi aspettalo.
15 Or, 'His anger never punishes, he does not seem aware of human rebel ion.'	15 Certo ora quello che l’ira sua ti ha imposto di castigo è come nulla; Ed egli non ha preso conoscenza della moltitudine de’ tuoi peccati molto innanzi.
16 Hence, when Job speaks, he talks nonsense, ignorantly babbling on and on.	16 Giobbe adunque indarno apre la sua bocca, Ed accumula parole senza conoscimento
