Job 35

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Elihu continued his speech. He said:	1 Elihú tomó la palabra y dijo:
2 Do you think you can prove yourself upright and establish your uprightness before God	2 ¿Piensas que estás en tu derecho, al decir: «Soy más justo que Dios»?
3 by daring to say to him, 'What does it matter to you, or how does it benefit me, whether I have sinnedor not?'	3 Porque tú dices: «¿De qué me sirve, qué gano yo con no pecar?».
4 Very well, I shal tel you and your friends as wel .	4 Pero yo te dará una respuesta, a ti y a tus amigos contigo.
5 Take a look at the skies and see, observe how high the clouds are above you.	5 Mira hacia el cielo y contempla, observa las nubes: ¡son más altas que tú!
6 If you sin, how can you affect him? If you heap up crimes, what effect has it on him?	6 Si pecas, ¿qué daño le causas? Con tus muchas rebeldías, ¿qué le puedes hacer?
7 If you are upright, what do you give him, what benefit does he receive at your hands?	7 Si eres justo, ¿qué le das o qué recibe él de tu mano?
8 Your wickedness affects only your fel ows, your uprightness, other human beings.	8 ¡A un hombre como tú afecta tu maldad, y tu justicia, a un simple mortal!
9 They too groan under the weight of oppression, they cry for help under the tyranny of the mighty,	9 Se grita bajo el peso de la opresión, se pide auxilio contra el brazo de los poderosos.
10 but none of them thinks of saying, 'Where is God, my Maker, who makes glad songs ring out at night,	10 Pero nadie dice: «¿Dónde está Dios, mi Creador, el que hace resonar cantos en la noche,
11 who has made us more intel igent than wild animals wiser than birds in the sky?'	11 el que nos instruye más que a las bestias de la tierra y nos hace más sabios que a los pájaros del cielo?».
12 Cry they may, but get no answer, to be spared from the arrogance of the wicked.	12 Entonces, por más que griten, él no responde, a causa del orgullo de los malvados.
13 Of course God does not listen to trivialities, Shaddai pays no attention to them.	13 ¡No, Dios no escucha las cosas vanas, el Todopoderoso no se da por aludido!
