Exodus 36

NEW JERUSALEM	MODERN HEBREW BIBLE
1 'Bezalel, Oholiab and al the men whom Yahweh has endowed with the skil and knowledge to knowhow to carry out al the work to be done on the sanctuary, wil do exactly as Yahweh has ordered.'	1 ועשה בצלאל ואהליאב וכל איש חכם לב אשר נתן יהוה חכמה ותבונה בהמה לדעת לעשת את כל מלאכת עבדת הקדש לכל אשר צוה יהוה
2 Moses then summoned Bezalel, Oholiab and al the skil ed men whose hearts Yahweh had endowedwith skil , al whose heart stirred them to come forward and do the work.	2 ויקרא משה אל בצלאל ואל אהליאב ואל כל איש חכם לב אשר נתן יהוה חכמה בלבו כל אשר נשאו לבו לקרבה אל המלאכה לעשת אתה
3 From Moses they received everything that the Israelites had brought as contributions for carrying outthe work of building the sanctuary, and, as they went on bringing their offerings every morning,	3 ויקחו מלפני משה את כל התרומה אשר הביאו בני ישראל למלאכת עבדת הקדש לעשת אתה והם הביאו אליו עוד נדבה בבקר בבקר
4 the skil ed men who were doing all the work for the sanctuary, al left their particular work	4 ויבאו כל החכמים העשים את כל מלאכת הקדש איש איש ממלאכתו אשר המה עשים
5 and said to Moses, 'The people are bringing more than is needed for the work Yahweh has ordered tobe done.'	5 ויאמרו אל משה לאמר מרבים העם להביא מדי העבדה למלאכה אשר צוה יהוה לעשת אתה
6 Moses then gave the order and proclamation was made throughout the camp, 'No one, whether manor woman, must do anything more towards contributing for the sanctuary.' So the people were prevented frombringing any more,	6 ויצו משה ויעבירו קול במחנה לאמר איש ואשה אל יעשו עוד מלאכה לתרומת הקדש ויכלא העם מהביא
7 for the material to hand was enough, and more than enough, to complete al the work.	7 והמלאכה היתה דים לכל המלאכה לעשות אתה והותר
8 Al the most skil ed of the men doing the work made the Dwelling. Moses made it with ten sheets offinely woven linen, dyed violet-purple, red-purple and crimson and embroidered with great winged creatures.	8 ויעשו כל חכם לב בעשי המלאכה את המשכן עשר יריעת שש משזר ותכלת וארגמן ותולעת שני כרבים מעשה חשב עשה אתם
9 The length of a single sheet was twenty-eight cubits, its width four cubits, al the sheets being of thesame size.	9 ארך היריעה האחת שמנה ועשרים באמה ורחב ארבע באמה היריעה האחת מדה אחת לכל היריעת
10 He joined five of the sheets to one another, and the other five sheets to one another.	10 ויחבר את חמש היריעת אחת אל אחת וחמש יריעת חבר אחת אל אחת
11 He made violet loops along the edge of the first sheet, at the end of the set, and did the same alongthe edge of the last sheet in the other set.	11 ויעש ללאת תכלת על שפת היריעה האחת מקצה במחברת כן עשה בשפת היריעה הקיצונה במחברת השנית
12 He made fifty loops on the first sheet and fifty loops along the outer edge of the sheet of the secondset, the loops corresponding to one another.	12 חמשים ללאת עשה ביריעה האחת וחמשים ללאת עשה בקצה היריעה אשר במחברת השנית מקבילת הללאת אחת אל אחת
13 He made fifty gold clasps and joined the sheets together with the clasps. In this way the Dwel ing wasa unified whole.	13 ויעש חמשים קרסי זהב ויחבר את הירעת אחת אל אחת בקרסים ויהי המשכן אחד
14 Next he made sheets of goats' hair for the tent over the Dwel ing; he made eleven of these.	14 ויעש יריעת עזים לאהל על המשכן עשתי עשרה יריעת עשה אתם
15 The length of a single sheet was thirty cubits and its width four cubits; the eleven sheets were al ofthe same size.	15 ארך היריעה האחת שלשים באמה וארבע אמות רחב היריעה האחת מדה אחת לעשתי עשרה יריעת
16 He joined five sheets together into one set and six sheets into another.	16 ויחבר את חמש היריעת לבד ואת שש היריעת לבד
17 He made fifty loops along the edge of the last sheet of the first set, and fifty loops along the edge ofthe sheet of the second set.	17 ויעש ללאת חמשים על שפת היריעה הקיצנה במחברת וחמשים ללאת עשה על שפת היריעה החברת השנית
18 He made fifty bronze clasps, to draw the tent together and make it a unified whole.	18 ויעש קרסי נחשת חמשים לחבר את האהל להית אחד
19 And for the tent he made a cover of rams' skins dyed red, and a cover of fine leather over that.	19 ויעש מכסה לאהל ערת אלים מאדמים ומכסה ערת תחשים מלמעלה
20 For the Dwelling he made vertical frames of acacia wood.	20 ויעש את הקרשים למשכן עצי שטים עמדים
21 Each frame was ten cubits long and one and a half cubits wide.	21 עשר אמת ארך הקרש ואמה וחצי האמה רחב הקרש האחד
22 Each frame had twin tenons; this was how he made al the frames for the Dwelling.	22 שתי ידת לקרש האחד משלבת אחת אל אחת כן עשה לכל קרשי המשכן
23 He made frames for the Dwel ing: twenty frames for the south side, to the south,	23 ויעש את הקרשים למשכן עשרים קרשים לפאת נגב תימנה
24 and made forty silver sockets under the twenty frames, two sockets under one frame for its twotenons, two sockets under the next frame for its two tenons;	24 וארבעים אדני כסף עשה תחת עשרים הקרשים שני אדנים תחת הקרש האחד לשתי ידתיו ושני אדנים תחת הקרש האחד לשתי ידתיו
25 and for the other side of the Dwel ing, the north side, twenty frames	25 ולצלע המשכן השנית לפאת צפון עשה עשרים קרשים
26 and forty silver sockets, two sockets under one frame, two sockets under the next frame.	26 וארבעים אדניהם כסף שני אדנים תחת הקרש האחד ושני אדנים תחת הקרש האחד
27 For the back of the Dwel ing, on the west, he made six frames.	27 ולירכתי המשכן ימה עשה ששה קרשים
28 He also made two frames for the corners at the back of the Dwel ing;	28 ושני קרשים עשה למקצעת המשכן בירכתים
29 these were coupled together at the bottom, staying so up to the top, to the level of the first ring; thishe did with the two frames forming the two corners.	29 והיו תואמם מלמטה ויחדו יהיו תמים אל ראשו אל הטבעת האחת כן עשה לשניהם לשני המקצעת
30 Thus there were eight frames with their sixteen silver sockets; two sockets under each frame.	30 והיו שמנה קרשים ואדניהם כסף ששה עשר אדנים שני אדנים שני אדנים תחת הקרש האחד
31 He made crossbars of acacia wood: five for the frames of the first side of the Dwel ing,	31 ויעש בריחי עצי שטים חמשה לקרשי צלע המשכן האחת
32 five crossbars for the frames of the other side of the Dwel ing and five crossbars for the frames whichformed the back of the Dwel ing, to the west.	32 וחמשה בריחם לקרשי צלע המשכן השנית וחמשה בריחם לקרשי המשכן לירכתים ימה
33 He made the middle bar, to join the frames from one end to the other, halfway up.	33 ויעש את הבריח התיכן לברח בתוך הקרשים מן הקצה אל הקצה
34 He overlaid the frames with gold, made gold rings for them, through which to place the crossbars,and overlaid the crossbars with gold.	34 ואת הקרשים צפה זהב ואת טבעתם עשה זהב בתים לבריחם ויצף את הבריחם זהב
35 He made a curtain of finely woven linen, dyed violet-purple, red-purple and crimson and embroideredwith great winged creatures,	35 ויעש את הפרכת תכלת וארגמן ותולעת שני ושש משזר מעשה חשב עשה אתה כרבים
36 and for it he made four poles of acacia wood, overlaying them with gold, with golden hooks for them,for which he cast four sockets of silver.	36 ויעש לה ארבעה עמודי שטים ויצפם זהב וויהם זהב ויצק להם ארבעה אדני כסף
37 For the entrance to the tent he made a screen of finely woven linen embroidered with violet-purple,red-purple and crimson,	37 ויעש מסך לפתח האהל תכלת וארגמן ותולעת שני ושש משזר מעשה רקם
38 as also the five columns for it and their hooks; he overlaid their capitals and rods with gold, but theirfive sockets were of bronze.	38 ואת עמודיו חמשה ואת וויהם וצפה ראשיהם וחשקיהם זהב ואדניהם חמשה נחשת
