1 In view of al this we make a firm agreement, in writing. Our princes, our Levites, our priests and therest of the people have put their names to the document under seal.	1 En raison de tout cela, nous prenons un engagement solennel et nous le mettons par écrit. Sur ce document officiel figurent les noms de nos chefs, de nos lévites et de nos prêtres.
2 On the sealed document were the names of: Nehemiah, son of Hacaliah, and Zedekiah;	2 Sur le document signé figuraient: Néhémie fils de Hakalya et Sidkiya,

29 And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the temple slavesand all those who had severed relations with the people of the country to adhere to the law of God, as also theirwives, their sons, their daughters, that is, al those who had reached the age of discretion,	29 Et le reste du peuple: les prêtres, les lévites, les portiers, les chantres, les serviteurs, en un mot tous ceux qui se sont séparés des peuples des nations pour obéir à la Loi de Dieu avec leurs femmes, leurs fils et leurs filles: tous ceux en âge de comprendre.
30 have joined their esteemed brothers in a solemn oath to follow the law of God given through Moses,servant of God, and to observe and practise all the commandments of Yahweh our Lord, with his rules and hisstatutes.	30 Tous se joignent à leurs frères, les chefs; ils s’engagent solennellement et par serment à marcher selon la Loi que Dieu a donnée par la bouche de Moïse, le serviteur de Dieu; à garder et à observer tous les commandements de Yahvé notre Dieu, ses coutumes et ses lois.
31 We will not give our daughters in marriage to the peoples of the country, nor allow their daughters tomarry our sons.	31 Nous ne donnerons plus nos filles comme épouses au peuple du pays et nous ne prendrons plus leurs filles pour nos fils.
32 If the people of the country bring goods or foodstuff of any kind to sel on the Sabbath day, we wilbuy nothing from them on Sabbath or holy day. In the seventh year, we wil forgo the produce of the soil and theexaction of al debts.	32 Si, le jour du sabbat, les peuples du pays apportent pour les vendre, des marchandises ou d’autres produits quelconques, nous ne les achèterons pas un jour de sabbat ni un jour sacré. La septième année, nous renoncerons aux produits du sol et à tout argent qui nous est dû.
33 We recognise the fol owing obligations: to give one-third of a shekel yearly for the service of theTemple of our God:	33 Nous nous obligeons à verser un tiers de pièce d’argent par an pour le culte du Temple de notre Dieu:
34 for the loaves of permanent offering, for the perpetual oblation, for the perpetual burnt offering, forthe sacrifices on Sabbaths, on New Moons and on festivals, for the consecrated gifts, the sin offerings to expiatefor Israel, in short, for the whole work of the Temple of our God;	34 pour le pain d’oblation, pour l’offrande et l’holocauste perpétuels, pour les sacrifices du sabbat, des Nouvelles Lunes, des fêtes, pour les repas sacrés, pour les sacrifices offerts pour l’expiation des péchés d’Israël; en un mot, pour tout le service du Temple de notre Dieu.
35 Furthermore, as regards deliveries of wood for burning on the altar of our God as the law prescribes,we have arranged, by drawing lots, how these deliveries are to be made at the Temple of our God by the priests,the Levites and the people by families, at stated times every year.We wil no longer neglect the Temple of ourGod.	35 Prêtres, lévites et peuple, nous avons tiré au sort pour chacune de nos familles la date à laquelle chaque année elles offriront le bois au Temple de notre Dieu pour le faire brûler sur l’autel de Yahvé notre Dieu, selon ce qui est écrit dans la Loi.
36 and further, to bring yearly to the Temple of our God the first-fruits of our soil and the first-fruits of alour orchards,	36 Chaque année nous apporterons au Temple de Yahvé les premiers produits de nos champs et les premiers fruits de tous les arbres,
37 also the first-born of our sons and of our cattle, as the law prescribes, the first-born of our herds andflocks should be taken to the Temple of our God for the priests officiating in the Temple of our God.	37 ainsi que les premiers-nés de nos fils et de notre troupeau, selon ce qui est écrit dans la Loi. Les premiers-nés de notre gros et petit bétail seront apportés au Temple de notre Dieu et destinés aux prêtres de service dans le Temple de notre Dieu.
38 Furthermore, we shall bring the best of our dough, of every kind of fruit, of the new wine and of the oilto the priests, to the storerooms of the Temple of our God, and the tithe on our soil to the Levites -- the Leviteswil themselves col ect the tithes from all the towns of our religion.	38 Nous apporterons aux prêtres, dans les salles du Temple de notre Dieu, la meilleure part de nos farines, des produits de nos arbres, du vin nouveau et de l’huile; et la dîme de nos champs sera pour les lévites. Ils prélèveront eux-mêmes cette dîme dans les régions agricoles.
39 An Aaronite priest wil accompany the Levites when they collect the tithes, and the Levites wil bringa tenth part	39 Un prêtre, fils d’Aaron, accompagnera les lévites quand ils prélèveront la dîme; les lévites porteront ensuite cette dîme dans les salles de la maison du trésor, au Temple de notre Dieu.
40 a,b of the tithes to the Temple of our God, into the treasury storerooms; for these rooms are wherethe Israelites and the Levites are to bring the contributions of corn, wine and oil, and where the vessels of thesanctuary are, and the officiating priests, the gatekeepers and the singers.	40 C’est en effet dans ces salles que les Israélites et les lévites apporteront les impôts en blé, en vin et en huile; c’est là que se gardera le matériel du Sanctuaire, là où sont les prêtres de service, les portiers et les chantres. Et désormais, nous ne négligerons plus le Temple de notre Dieu.
