NEW JERUSALEM	STUTTGARTENSIA-DELITZSCH
1 Solomon then began building the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah where David hisfather had had a vision -- on the site which David had prepared -- on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.	1 וַיָּחֶל שְׁלֹמֹה לִבְנֹות אֶת־בֵּית־יְהוָה בִּירוּשָׁלִַם בְּהַר הַמֹּורִיָּה אֲשֶׁר נִרְאָה לְדָוִיד אָבִיהוּ אֲשֶׁר הֵכִין בִּמְקֹום דָּוִיד בְּגֹרֶן אָרְנָן הַיְבוּסִי
2 He began building it on the second day of the second month of the fourth year of his reign.	2 וַיָּחֶל לִבְנֹות בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִי בַּשֵּׁנִי בִּשְׁנַת אַרְבַּע לְמַלְכוּתֹו
3 These are the dimensions which Solomon fixed for the structure of the house of God: its length incubits, according to the old standard, was sixty cubits and its width twenty cubits;	3 וְאֵלֶּה הוּסַד שְׁלֹמֹה לִבְנֹות אֶת־בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים הָאֹרֶךְ אַמֹּות בַּמִּדָּה הָרִאשֹׁונָה אַמֹּות שִׁשִּׁים וְרֹחַב אַמֹּות עֶשְׂרִים
4 and the portico in front of the house was the ful width of the house, that is, twenty cubits, and its heightwas a hundred and twenty cubits; on the inside he overlaid it with pure gold.	4 וְהָאוּלָם אֲשֶׁר עַל־פְּנֵי הָאֹרֶךְ עַל־פְּנֵי רֹחַב־הַבַּיִת אַמֹּות עֶשְׂרִים וְהַגֹּבַהּ מֵאָה וְעֶשְׂרִים וַיְצַפֵּהוּ מִפְּנִימָה זָהָב טָהֹור
5 The Great Hall he lined with juniper, which he overlaid with fine gold and ornamented with palm treesand festoons,	5 וְאֵת ׀ הַבַּיִת הַגָּדֹול חִפָּה עֵץ בְּרֹושִׁים וַיְחַפֵּהוּ זָהָב טֹוב וַיַּעַל עָלָיו תִּמֹרִים וְשַׁרְשְׁרֹות
6 and he decorated the hall beautifully with precious stones and with gold from Parvaim,	6 וַיְצַף אֶת־הַבַּיִת אֶבֶן יְקָרָה לְתִפְאָרֶת וְהַזָּהָב זְהַב פַּרְוָיִם
7 overlaying the hal , its beams and its thresholds, its walls and its doors, with gold and engraving thewal s with great winged creatures.	7 וַיְחַף אֶת־הַבַּיִת הַקֹּרֹות הַסִּפִּים וְקִירֹותָיו וְדַלְתֹותָיו זָהָב וּפִתַּח כְּרוּבִים עַל־הַקִּירֹות׃ ס
8 He also made the Holy of Holies, the length of which corresponded to the width of the Great Hal , beingtwenty cubits, with a width of twenty cubits, and this he overlaid with fine gold weighing six hundred talents,	8 וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת־בֵּית־קֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים אָרְכֹּו עַל־פְּנֵי רֹחַב־הַבַּיִת אַמֹּות עֶשְׂרִים וְרָחְבֹּו אַמֹּות עֶשְׂרִים וַיְחַפֵּהוּ זָהָב טֹוב לְכִכָּרִים שֵׁשׁ מֵאֹות
9 while the weight of the gold nails was fifty shekels. He also overlaid the upper rooms with gold.	9 וּמִשְׁקָל לְמִסְמְרֹות לִשְׁקָלִים חֲמִשִּׁים זָהָב וְהָעֲלִיֹּות חִפָּה זָהָב
10 In the Holy of Holies he model ed two winged creatures of wrought metal work and overlaid them withgold.	10 וַיַּעַשׂ בְּבֵית־קֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים כְּרוּבִים שְׁנַיִם מַעֲשֵׂה צַעֲצֻעִים וַיְצַפּוּ אֹתָם זָהָב
11 The total span of their wings was twenty cubits; one wing, being five cubits long, touched the wal ofthe house and the other wing, being five cubits long, touched the wing of the other winged creature;	11 וְכַנְפֵי הַכְּרוּבִים אָרְכָּם אַמֹּות עֶשְׂרִים כְּנַף הָאֶחָד לְאַמֹּות חָמֵשׁ מַגַּעַת לְקִיר הַבַּיִת וְהַכָּנָף הָאַחֶרֶת אַמֹּות חָמֵשׁ מַגִּיעַ לִכְנַף הַכְּרוּב הָאַחֵר
12 while one wing of the other, five cubits long, touched the other wall of the house and the other wing,five cubits long, touched the wing of the other winged creature.	12 וּכְנַף הַכְּרוּב הָאֶחָד אַמֹּות חָמֵשׁ מַגִּיעַ לְקִיר הַבָּיִת וְהַכָּנָף הָאַחֶרֶת אַמֹּות חָמֵשׁ דְּבֵקָה לִכְנַף הַכְּרוּב הָאַחֵר
13 The spread of these creatures' wings was twenty cubits. They stood in an upright position, with theirfaces towards the Hall.	13 כַּנְפֵי הַכְּרוּבִים הָאֵלֶּה פֹּרְשִׂים אַמֹּות עֶשְׂרִים וְהֵם עֹמְדִים עַל־רַגְלֵיהֶם וּפְנֵיהֶם לַבָּיִת׃ ס
14 He also made the Curtain of violet, scarlet, crimson and fine linen, working a design of wingedcreatures on it.	14 וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת־הַפָּרֹכֶת תְּכֵלֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן וְכַרְמִיל וּבוּץ וַיַּעַל עָלָיו כְּרוּבִים׃ ס
15 In front of the Hal he made two pil ars thirty-five cubits high, and on the top of each a capitalmeasuring five cubits.	15 וַיַּעַשׂ לִפְנֵי הַבַּיִת עַמּוּדִים שְׁנַיִם אַמֹּות שְׁלֹשִׁים וְחָמֵשׁ אֹרֶךְ וְהַצֶּפֶת אֲשֶׁר־עַל־רֹאשֹׁו אַמֹּות חָמֵשׁ׃ ס
16 He made festoons, in the Debir, to go at the tops of the pil ars, and made a hundred pomegranates togo on the festoons.	16 וַיַּעַשׂ שַׁרְשְׁרֹות בַּדְּבִיר וַיִּתֵּן עַל־רֹאשׁ הָעַמֻּדִים וַיַּעַשׂ רִמֹּונִים מֵאָה וַיִּתֵּן בַּשַּׁרְשְׁרֹות
17 He erected the pil ars in front of the Temple, one on the right, the other on the left; the one on the righthe cal ed Jachin and the one on the left, Boaz.	17 וַיָּקֶם אֶת־הָעַמּוּדִים עַל־פְּנֵי הַהֵיכָל אֶחָד מִיָּמִין וְאֶחָד מֵהַשְּׂמֹאול וַיִּקְרָא שֵׁם־ [הַיְמִינִי כ] (הַיְמָנִי ק) יָכִין וְשֵׁם הַשְּׂמָאלִי בֹּעַז׃ ס
