NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Solomon then began building the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah where David hisfather had had a vision -- on the site which David had prepared -- on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.	1 Salomon commença alors la construction de la maison de Yahvé. 2 He began building it on the second day of the second month of the fourth year of his reign.	2 Salomon commença les constructions au second mois de la quatrième année de son règne.
3 These are the dimensions which Solomon fixed for the structure of the house of God: its length incubits, according to the old standard, was sixty cubits and its width twenty cubits;	3 Voici que l'édifice de la maison de Dieu, fondée par Salomon, eut une longueur de 60 coudées-- coudée d'ancienne mesure -- et une largeur de vingt.
4 and the portico in front of the house was the ful width of the house, that is, twenty cubits, and its heightwas a hundred and twenty cubits; on the inside he overlaid it with pure gold.	4 Le vestibule qui se trouvait par devant avait une longueur de vingt coudées couvrant la largeurde la maison et une hauteur de 120 coudées. Salomon en revêtit d'or pur l'intérieur.
5 The Great Hall he lined with juniper, which he overlaid with fine gold and ornamented with palm treesand festoons,	5 Quant à la grande salle, il la plaqua en bois de genévrier qu'il recouvrit d'un bel or et y dressades palmes et des guirlandes.
6 and he decorated the hall beautifully with precious stones and with gold from Parvaim,	6 Il sertit alors la salle de pierres précieuses, éclatantes; l'or était de l'or de Parvayim,
7 overlaying the hal , its beams and its thresholds, its walls and its doors, with gold and engraving thewal s with great winged creatures.	7 il en recouvrit la salle, les poutres, les seuils, les parois et les portes, et grava ensuite deschérubins sur les parois.
8 He also made the Holy of Holies, the length of which corresponded to the width of the Great Hal , beingtwenty cubits, with a width of twenty cubits, and this he overlaid with fine gold weighing six hundred talents,	8 Puis il bâtit la salle du Saint des Saints dont la longueur de vingt coudées couvrait la largeurde la grande salle, et dont la largeur était de vingt coudées. Il la plaqua pour 600 talents d'un bel or;
9 while the weight of the gold nails was fifty shekels. He also overlaid the upper rooms with gold.	9 les clous d'or pesaient 50 sicles. Il plaqua d'or les chambres hautes.
10 In the Holy of Holies he model ed two winged creatures of wrought metal work and overlaid them withgold.	10 Dans la salle du Saint des Saints il fit deux chérubins, ouvrage en métal forgé qu'il plaquad'or.
11 The total span of their wings was twenty cubits; one wing, being five cubits long, touched the wal ofthe house and the other wing, being five cubits long, touched the wing of the other winged creature;	11 Les ailes des chérubins avaient vingt coudées de long, chacune d'elles ayant cinq coudées ettouchant l'une à la paroi de la salle, l'autre à celle de l'autre chérubin.
12 while one wing of the other, five cubits long, touched the other wall of the house and the other wing,five cubits long, touched the wing of the other winged creature.	12 L'une des ailes de cinq coudées d'un chérubin touchait à la paroi de la salle; la seconde, decinq coudées, touchait à l'aile de l'autre chérubin.
13 The spread of these creatures' wings was twenty cubits. They stood in an upright position, with theirfaces towards the Hall.	13 Déployées, les ailes de ces chérubins mesuraient vingt coudées. Eux-mêmes se tenaientdebout, face à la Salle.
14 He also made the Curtain of violet, scarlet, crimson and fine linen, working a design of wingedcreatures on it.	14 Il fit le Rideau de pourpre violette et écarlate, de cramoisi et de byssus; il y appliqua deschérubins.
15 In front of the Hal he made two pil ars thirty-five cubits high, and on the top of each a capitalmeasuring five cubits.	15 Devant la salle, il fit deux colonnes longues de 35 coudées que surmontait un chapiteau decinq coudées.
16 He made festoons, in the Debir, to go at the tops of the pil ars, and made a hundred pomegranates togo on the festoons.	16 Dans le Debir, il fit des guirlandes qu'il disposa au haut des colonnes et fit cent grenades qu'ilmit dans les guirlandes.
17 He erected the pil ars in front of the Temple, one on the right, the other on the left; the one on the righthe cal ed Jachin and the one on the left, Boaz.	17 Il dressa les colonnes devant le Hékal, l'une à droite et l'autre à gauche, et il appela Yakîncelle de droite, Boaz celle de gauche.
