1 Solomon then began building the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah where David hisfather had had a vision -- on the site which David had prepared -- on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.	1 Salomone cominciò a costruire il tempio del Signore in Gerusalemme, sul monte Moria, dove il Signore era apparso a Davide, suo padre, nel luogo che Davide aveva preparato sull'aia di Ornan, il gebuseo.
2 He began building it on the second day of the second month of the fourth year of his reign.	2 Incominciò a costruire nel secondo mese del quarto anno del suo regno.
3 These are the dimensions which Solomon fixed for the structure of the house of God: its length incubits, according to the old standard, was sixty cubits and its width twenty cubits;	3 Queste sono le misure delle fondamenta stabilite da Salomone per la costruzione del tempio di Dio: la lunghezza, in cubiti di antica misura, era di sessanta cubiti e la larghezza di venti cubiti.
4 and the portico in front of the house was the ful width of the house, that is, twenty cubits, and its heightwas a hundred and twenty cubits; on the inside he overlaid it with pure gold.	4 Il vestibolo che si trovava di fronte al tempio era lungo, nel senso della larghezza dell'edificio, venti cubiti. La sua altezza era di centoventi cubiti. All'interno lo rivestì di oro puro.
5 The Great Hall he lined with juniper, which he overlaid with fine gold and ornamented with palm treesand festoons,	5 La grande aula la ricoprì di legno di cipresso, la rivestì poi di ottimo oro scolpendovi sopra palme e ghirlande.
6 and he decorated the hall beautifully with precious stones and with gold from Parvaim,	6 Come ornamento rivestì l'aula di pietre preziose e l'oro era quello di Parvàim.
7 overlaying the hal , its beams and its thresholds, its walls and its doors, with gold and engraving thewal s with great winged creatures.	7 Così rivestì d'oro l'aula, cioè le travi, le soglie, le pareti e le porte e fece scolpire dei cherubini sulle pareti.
8 He also made the Holy of Holies, the length of which corresponded to the width of the Great Hal , beingtwenty cubits, with a width of twenty cubits, and this he overlaid with fine gold weighing six hundred talents,	8 Poi costruì la cella del santo dei santi; la sua lunghezza sulla misura della larghezza del tempio era di venti cubiti; anche la sua larghezza era di venti cubiti. La rivestì di ottimo oro per il peso di seicento talenti.
9 while the weight of the gold nails was fifty shekels. He also overlaid the upper rooms with gold.	9 Il peso dell'oro per i chiodi era di cinquanta sicli. Anche le camere superiori le rivestì d'oro.
10 In the Holy of Holies he model ed two winged creatures of wrought metal work and overlaid them withgold.	10 Nella cella del santo dei santi eresse due cherubini, opera di scultori, e li rivestì d'oro.
11 The total span of their wings was twenty cubits; one wing, being five cubits long, touched the wal ofthe house and the other wing, being five cubits long, touched the wing of the other winged creature;	11 Le ali dei cherubini erano lunghe venti cubiti; un'ala di uno di essi, lunga cinque cubiti, toccava la parete della cella, mentre l'altra ala, pure della lunghezza di cinque cubiti, toccava l'ala del secondo cherubino.
12 while one wing of the other, five cubits long, touched the other wall of the house and the other wing,five cubits long, touched the wing of the other winged creature.	12 Un'ala dell'altro cherubino, lunga cinque cubiti, toccava la parete della cella, mentre l'altra ala, essendo pure di cinque cubiti, toccava l'ala del primo cherubino.
13 The spread of these creatures' wings was twenty cubits. They stood in an upright position, with theirfaces towards the Hall.	13 Le ali dispiegate di questi cherubini misuravano venti cubiti; essi stavano ritti sui piedi con la faccia rivolta all'interno.
14 He also made the Curtain of violet, scarlet, crimson and fine linen, working a design of wingedcreatures on it.	14 Salomone fece poi la cortina di violetto, di porpora, di cremisi e di bisso e su di essa fece ricamare cherubini.
15 In front of the Hal he made two pil ars thirty-five cubits high, and on the top of each a capitalmeasuring five cubits.	15 Di fronte al tempio eresse due colonne lunghe trentacinque cubiti; il capitello in cima a ciascuna era di cinque cubiti.
16 He made festoons, in the Debir, to go at the tops of the pil ars, and made a hundred pomegranates togo on the festoons.	16 Fece ghirlande a forma di collana e le pose in cima alle colonne. Fece anche cento melagrane che sospese fra le ghirlande.
17 He erected the pil ars in front of the Temple, one on the right, the other on the left; the one on the righthe cal ed Jachin and the one on the left, Boaz.	17 Rizzò le colonne dinanzi al tempio, una a destra e l'altra a sinistra; quella di destra la chiamò Iachin e quella di sinistra Boaz.
