1 Solomon then began building the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah where David hisfather had had a vision -- on the site which David had prepared -- on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.	1 Salomon commença à bâtir la Maison de Yahvé à Jérusalem sur le Mont Moriya où David son père avait eu une vision, à l’endroit que David avait réservé sur l’aire d’Ornan le Jébusite.
2 He began building it on the second day of the second month of the fourth year of his reign.	2 Salomon commença la construction le deuxième mois de la quatrième année de son règne.
3 These are the dimensions which Solomon fixed for the structure of the house of God: its length incubits, according to the old standard, was sixty cubits and its width twenty cubits;	3 La Maison que Salomon construisait était longue de 60 coudées (en ancienne coudée) et large de 20 coudées.
4 and the portico in front of the house was the ful width of the house, that is, twenty cubits, and its heightwas a hundred and twenty cubits; on the inside he overlaid it with pure gold.	4 Le vestibule sur le devant mesurait 20 coudées dans le sens de la largeur de la Maison; sa hauteur était de 120 coudées. Salomon recouvrit l’intérieur d’or pur.
5 The Great Hall he lined with juniper, which he overlaid with fine gold and ornamented with palm treesand festoons,	5 Il garnit la grande salle de bois de cyprès recouvert d’or pur; il la décora de palmes et de festons.
6 and he decorated the hall beautifully with precious stones and with gold from Parvaim,	6 Il rehaussa la construction de pierres précieuses d’une grande beauté; l’or venait de Parvayim.
7 overlaying the hal , its beams and its thresholds, its walls and its doors, with gold and engraving thewal s with great winged creatures.	7 Il en recouvrit la maison: poutres, seuils, murs et portes. Sur les murs il fit graver des chérubins.
8 He also made the Holy of Holies, the length of which corresponded to the width of the Great Hal , beingtwenty cubits, with a width of twenty cubits, and this he overlaid with fine gold weighing six hundred talents,	8 Puis il construisit le Saint des Saints; sa profondeur, faisant suite à la grande salle, était de 20 coudées et sa largeur de 20 coudées; il le revêtit de la valeur de 600 pièces d’or fin,
9 while the weight of the gold nails was fifty shekels. He also overlaid the upper rooms with gold.	9 les clous en or pesaient 50 sicles. Il revêtit aussi les chambres hautes d’or fin.
10 In the Holy of Holies he model ed two winged creatures of wrought metal work and overlaid them withgold.	10 Dans le Saint des Saints il fit deux Chérubins en bois sculpté et les recouvrit d’or.
11 The total span of their wings was twenty cubits; one wing, being five cubits long, touched the wal ofthe house and the other wing, being five cubits long, touched the wing of the other winged creature;	11 La largeur des ailes des Chérubins était de 20 coudées, chaque aile mesurait cinq coudées, avec une aile qui touchait le mur de la pièce tandis que l’autre touchait celui de l’autre Chérubin.
12 while one wing of the other, five cubits long, touched the other wall of the house and the other wing,five cubits long, touched the wing of the other winged creature.	12 Ainsi une aile de Chérubin longue de cinq coudées touchait le mur de la pièce, la deuxième, longue de cinq coudées, touchait l’aile de l’autre Chérubin.
13 The spread of these creatures' wings was twenty cubits. They stood in an upright position, with theirfaces towards the Hall.	13 Les ailes déployées de ces Chérubins mesuraient 20 coudées; ils étaient debout et regardaient vers la Maison.
14 He also made the Curtain of violet, scarlet, crimson and fine linen, working a design of wingedcreatures on it.	14 Il fit le rideau de pourpre violette et de pourpre rouge, d’étoffe de couleur et de lin fin; il y fit broder des chérubins.
15 In front of the Hal he made two pil ars thirty-five cubits high, and on the top of each a capitalmeasuring five cubits.	15 Devant la grande salle il fit deux colonnes d’une hauteur de 35 coudées, et au sommet de chacune, un chapiteau mesurant cinq coudées.
16 He made festoons, in the Debir, to go at the tops of the pil ars, and made a hundred pomegranates togo on the festoons.	16 Il plaça des festons en haut des colonnes et 100 grenades qu’il fixa sur les festons.
17 He erected the pil ars in front of the Temple, one on the right, the other on the left; the one on the righthe cal ed Jachin and the one on the left, Boaz.	17 Il dressa les colonnes devant le Temple, l’une à droite, l’autre à gauche; à celle de droite il donna le nom de Yakin, à celle de gauche il donna le nom de Boaz.
