1 Chronicles 17

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 It happened, once David had settled into his palace, that David said to the prophet Nathan, 'Here am Iliving in a cedar-wood palace, while the ark of the covenant of Yahweh is under awnings.'	1 وكان لما سكن داود في بيته قال داود لناثان النبي. هانذا ساكن في بيت من ارز وتابوت عهد الرب تحت شقق.
2 Nathan said to David, 'Do whatever you have in mind, for God is with you.'	2 فقال ناثان لداود افعل كل ما في قلبك لان الله معك.
3 But that very night the word of God came to Nathan, as fol ows:	3 وفي تلك الليلة كان كلام الله الى ناثان قائلا
4 'Go and tell my servant David, "Yahweh says this: You must not build a temple for me to live in.	4 اذهب وقل لداود عبدي هكذا قال الرب. انت لا تبني لي بيتا للسكنى.
5 I have never lived in a house from the day when I brought Israel out until today, but have kepttravel ing from tent to tent and from shelter to shelter.	5 لاني لم اسكن في بيت منذ يوم اصعدت اسرائيل الى هذا اليوم بل سرت من خيمة الى خيمة ومن مسكن الى مسكن.
6 In al my travels with al Israel, did I say to any of the judges of Israel, whom I had commanded toshepherd my people: Why do you not build me a cedar-wood temple?	6 في كل ما سرت مع جميع اسرائيل هل تكلمت بكلمة مع احد قضاة اسرائيل الذين امرتهم ان يرعوا شعبي اسرائيل قائلا لماذا لم تبنوا لي بيتا من ارز.
7 This is what you must say to my servant David: Yahweh Sabaoth says this: I took you from thepasture, from following the sheep, to be leader of my people Israel.	7 والآن فهكذا تقول لعبدي داود. هكذا قال رب الجنود انا اخذتك من المربض من وراء الغنم لتكون رئيسا على شعبي اسرائيل.
8 I have been with you wherever you went; I have got rid of al your enemies for you. I am going to makeyour fame like that of the greatest men on earth.	8 وكنت معك حيثما توجهت وقرضت جميع اعدائك من امامك وعملت لك اسما كاسم العظماء الذين في الارض.
9 I am going to provide a place for my people Israel; I shal plant them there and there they will live andnever be disturbed again; nor wil they be oppressed by the wicked as they were in former times	9 وعيّنت مكانا لشعبي اسرائيل وغرسته فسكن في مكانه ولا يضطرب بعد ولا يعود بنو الاثم يبلونه كما في الاول
10 ever since I instituted judges to govern my people Israel; I shall subdue al your enemies. Yahwehmoreover tel s you that he wil build you a dynasty.	10 ومنذ الايام التي فيها اقمت قضاة على شعبي اسرائيل. واذللت جميع اعدائك. واخبرك ان الرب يبني لك بيتا
11 And when your days are over and you have gone to join your ancestors, I shall appoint your heir --who wil be one of your sons -- to succeed you, and I shall make his sovereignty secure.	11 ويكون متى كملت ايامك لتذهب مع آبائك اني اقيم بعدك نسلك الذي يكون من بنيك واثبت مملكته.
12 He wil build a temple for me and I shal make his throne secure for ever.	12 هو يبني لي بيتا وانا اثبت كرسيه الى الابد.
13 I shal be his father and he wil be my son, and I shal not withdraw my favour from him, as I withdrewit from your predecessor.	13 انا اكون له ابا وهو يكون لي ابنا ولا انزع رحمتي عنه كما نزعتها عن الذي كان قبلك.
14 I shal set him over my temple and kingdom for ever and his throne wil be for ever secure." '	14 واقيمه في بيتي وملكوتي الى الابد ويكون كرسيه ثابتا الى الابد.
15 Nathan related al these words and this whole revelation to David.	15 فحسب جميع هذا الكلام وحسب كل هذه الرؤيا كذلك كلم ناثان داود
16 King David then went in, sat down in Yahweh's presence and said: 'Who am I, Yahweh God, andwhat is my lineage, that you have led me as far as this?	16 فدخل الملك داود وجلس امام الرب وقال. من انا ايها الرب الاله وماذا بيتي حتى اوصلتني الى هنا.
17 Yet, to you, O God, this seemed too little, and now you extend your promises for your servant'sfamily into the distant future, making me see as it were a whole succession of men, and it is Yahweh Godhimself who raises it up.	17 وقلّ هذا في عينيك يا الله فتكلمت عن بيت عبدك الى زمان طويل ونظرت اليّ من العلاء كعادة الانسان ايها الرب الاله.
18 What more can David reply to you for the honour you have given to your servant? You yourself havesingled out your servant.	18 فماذا يزيد داود بعد لك لاجل اكرام عبدك وانت قد عرفت عبدك.
19 For your servant, and since you were so inclined, you have had the generosity to reveal al thisgreatness to come.	19 يا رب من اجل عبدك وحسب قلبك قد فعلت كل هذه العظائم لتظهر جميع العظائم
20 Yahweh, there is no one like you, no God but you alone, as everything that we have heard confirms.	20 يا رب ليس مثلك ولا اله غيرك حسب كل ما سمعناه بآذاننا.
21 Is there another people on earth like your people Israel, whom a god has proceeded to redeem, tomake them his people and to make them famous and do for them great and terrible deeds, by driving out nationsbefore your people, whom you redeemed from Egypt? -	21 وايّة امة على الارض مثل شعبك اسرائيل الذي سار الله ليفتديه لنفسه شعبا لتجعل لك اسم عظائم ومخاوف بطردك امما من امام شعبك الذي افتديته من مصر.
22 for you made your people Israel your own people for ever and you, Yahweh, became their God.	22 وقد جعلت شعبك اسرائيل لنفسك شعبا الى الابد وانت ايها الرب صرت لهم الها.
23 'Now, Yahweh, may the promise which you have made for your servant and as regards his familyhold good for ever, and do as you have said.	23 والآن ايها الرب ليثبت الى الابد الكلام الذي تكلمت به عن عبدك وعن بيته وافعل كما نطقت.
24 May it hold good, so your name wil be exalted for ever and people wil say, "Israel's God is YahwehSabaoth; he is God for Israel." Your servant David's dynasty will be secure before you	24 وليثبت ويتعظم اسمك الى الابد فيقال رب الجنود اله اسرائيل هو الله لاسرائيل وليثبت بيت داود عبدك امامك.
25 since you, my God, have disclosed to your servant that you are going to build him a dynasty. Hence,your servant has ventured to offer this prayer to you.	25 لانك يا الهي قد اعلنت لعبدك انك تبني له بيتا لذلك وجد عبدك ان يصلّي امامك.
26 Yes, Yahweh, you are God indeed, and you have made this generous promise to your servant.	26 والآن ايها الرب انت هو الله وقد وعدت عبدك بهذا الخير.
27 What is more, you have deigned to bless your servant's dynasty, so that it may remain for everbefore you; and since you, Yahweh, have blessed it, blessed will it be for ever.'	27 والآن قد ارتضيت بان تبارك بيت عبدك ليكون الى الابد امامك لانك انت يا رب قد باركت وهو مبارك الى الابد
