1 Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had raised to life, 'Move away with your family, and livewhere you can in some foreign country, for Yahweh has cal ed up a famine -- it is already coming on the country-- for seven years.'	1 Elizej bijaše savjetovao ženi kojoj je oživio sina: »Ustani, pođi sa svojom obitelji i skloni se kao tuđinka bilo kamo, jer je Jahve pustio glad; već je došla u zemlju za sedam godina.«
2 The woman hurried to do what the man of God had told her: she set out, she and her family, and forseven years she lived in Philistine territory.	2 Žena usta i učini kako joj je rekao čovjek Božji: otišla je, ona i njena obitelj, i ostala sedam godina u zemlji filistejskoj.
3 When the seven years were over, the woman returned from Philistine territory and went to lodge a claimwith the king for her house and land.	3 Na kraju sedme godine žena se vrati iz zemlje filistejske i ode kralju da zatraži svoju kuću i njivu.
4 Now the king was talking to Gehazi, the servant of the man of God. 'Tel me', he was saying, 'al aboutthe marvels which Elisha did.'	4 Upravo je kralj razgovarao s Gehazijem, momkom Božjega čovjeka. Govorio mu je: »Pripovijedaj mi o svim velikim djelima koja je Elizej učinio.«
5 Gehazi was just tel ing the king how Elisha had raised the dead child to life, when the woman whose sonElisha had raised lodged her claim with the king for her house and land. 'My lord king,' Gehazi said, 'this is thevery woman, and that is her son whom Elisha raised to life.'	5 I kad je pripovijedao kralju o uskrisenju djeteta, eto žene kojoj je Elizej oživio sina; ona se obrati kralju radi svoje kuće i njive. A Gehazi reče: »Gospodaru kralju, evo one žene i evo njena sina koga je Elizej oživio.«
6 The king questioned the woman, who told him the story. The king then delegated one of the officials toher with this order, 'See that al her property is restored to her, and al the revenue from her land from the dayshe left the country until now.'	6 Kralj upita ženu i ona mu sve pripovjedi. Tada joj kralj dade jednoga slugu, komu naredi: »Neka joj se vrati sve što je njeno i svi prihodi od njive od dana kada je ostavila zemlju do danas!«
7 Elisha went to Damascus. Ben-Hadad king of Aram was il , and was told, 'The man of God has come althe way to us.'	7 Elizej dođe u Damask. Ben-Hadad, kralj aramejski, bijaše obolio. Odmah mu javiše: »Božji čovjek došao ovamo.«
8 Then the king said to Hazael, 'Take a present with you and go and meet the man of God; consultYahweh through him, and find out if I shal recover from my il ness.'	8 Tada reče kralj Hazaelu: »Uzmi sa sobom dar pa idi pred Božjeg čovjeka. I preko njega se posavjetuj s Jahvom da bi saznao hoću li se izliječiti od ove bolesti.«
9 So Hazael went to meet Elisha, taking with him as a present the best that Damascus could offer, a loadfor forty camels. He arrived and, presenting himself, said, 'Your son Ben-Hadad king of Aram has sent me to askyou, "Shall I recover from my illness?" '	9 Hazael ode pred Elizeja i donese mu u dar što bijaše od ponajboljeg u Damasku, sve to natovareno na četrdeset deva. Dođe on i stade preda nj i reče: »Tvoj sin Ben-Hadad, kralj aramejski, šalje me k tebi i pita hoće li ozdraviti od one bolesti.«
10 Elisha replied, 'Go and tell him, "You might recover," though Yahweh has shown me that he wilcertainly die.'	10 Elizej mu odgovori: »Idi i reci mu: ‘Ozdravit ćeš, dakako!’ Ali mi je Jahve pokazao da će umrijeti.«
11 Then the face of the man of God went rigid, and his look grew strangely fixed, and he wept.	11 I čovjek Božji uprije pogled preda se, smeten, i zaplaka.
12 'Why', Hazael asked, 'does my lord weep?' 'Because I know', Elisha replied, 'what harm you wil do tothe Israelites: you wil burn down their fortresses, put their picked warriors to the sword, dash their little childrento pieces, disembowel their pregnant women.'	12 Hazael reče: »Zašto plačeš, moj gospodaru?« Elizej odgovori: »Zato što znam sva zla koja ćeš ti učiniti Izraelcima: spalit ćeš im utvrde, mačem ćeš poubijati njihove ratnike, njihovu ćeš djecu satirati, a trudne žene parati.«
13 'But what is your servant?' Hazael said. 'How could this dog achieve anything so great?' 'In a visionfrom Yahweh,' Elisha replied, 'I have seen you king of Aram.'	13 Hazael reče: »Ali što je tvoj sluga? Zar je pas da učini tako strašne stvari?« Elizej odgovori: »U jednoj Jahvinoj objavi vidio sam tebe kao kralja aramejskog.«
14 Leaving Elisha, Hazael went back to his master who asked, 'What did Elisha say to you?' He replied,'He told me that you might recover.'	14 Hazael ode od Elizeja i vrati se svome gospodaru, koji ga upita: »Što ti je rekao Elizej?« On odgovori: »Rekao mi je da ćeš ozdraviti.«
15 Next day he took a blanket, soaked it in water, and spread it over his face. So died Ben-Hadad, andHazael succeeded him.	15 Ali sutradan uze pokrivač, namoči ga u vodi i pokri kralja preko lica te on umrije. A na njegovo mjesto zakralji se Hazael.
16 In the fifth year of Jehoram son of Ahab, king of Israel, Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat became king ofJudah.	16 Pete godine kraljevanja Jorama, sina Ahabova, u Izraelu, postade judejskim kraljem Joram, sin Jošafatov.
17 He was thirty-two years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for eight years in Jerusalem.	17 Bile su mu trideset i dvije godine kad se zakraljio, a kraljevao je osam godina u Jeruzalemu.
18 He followed the example of the kings of Israel as the House of Ahab were doing; he had married one ofAhab's daughters; and he did what is displeasing to Yahweh.	18 Živio je poput izraelskih kraljeva, kao i dom Ahabov, jer mu je kći Ahabova bila žena; radio je što je zlo u Jahvinim očima.
19 But Yahweh was unwil ing to destroy Judah, because of his servant David, and was faithful to thepromise which he had made him to leave him a lamp for ever in his presence.	19 Ipak Jahve ne htjede razoriti Judeje zbog sluge svoga Davida, zato što mu obeća da će dati svjetiljku njemu i njegovim sinovima zauvijek.
20 In his time Edom threw off the domination of Judah and set up a king for itself.	20 U njegovo se vrijeme Edomci odmetnuše ispod judejske vlasti i postaviše sebi kralja.
21 Jehoram crossed to Zair, and with him al the chariots . . . Under cover of dark, he and his chariotcommanders broke through the Edomites surrounding him; the people fled to their tents.	21 Joram ode u Seir i s njim sva bojna kola. Diže se noću i pobi Edomce koji su bili opkolili njega i zapovjednike bojnih kola. Narod pobježe u svoje šatore.
22 Even so, Edom threw off the domination of Judah, remaining free to the present day. Libnah alsorevolted at that time.	22 Ipak su se Edomci oslobodili ispod judejske vlasti sve do danas. U isto se doba odmetnu i Libna.
23 The rest of the history of Jehoram, his entire career, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals ofthe Kings of Judah?	23 Ostala povijest Jorama, sve što je učinio, zar to nije zapisano u knjizi Ljetopisa kraljeva judejskih?
24 Then Jehoram fel asleep with his ancestors and was buried with them in the City of David; his sonAhaziah succeeded him.	24 Joram počinu kraj svojih otaca i bî pokopan k svojim ocima u Davidovu gradu. Njegov sin Ahazja zakralji se mjesto njega.
25 In the twelfth year of Jehoram son of Ahab, king of Israel, Ahaziah son of Jehoram, king of Judah,became king.	25 Dvanaeste godine Jorama, sina Ahabova, kralja Izraela, postade judejskim kraljem Ahazja, sin Joramov.
26 Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for one year inJerusalem. His mother's name was Athaliah granddaughter of Omri king of Israel.	26 Ahazji bijahu dvadeset i dvije godine kad se zakraljio, a kraljevao je godinu dana u Jeruzalemu. Mati mu se zvala Atalija, a bila je kći izraelskog kralja Omrija.
27 He followed the example of the House of Ahab and did what is displeasing to Yahweh, as the House ofAhab were doing, to whom he was related by marriage.	27 I on je hodio putem obitelji Ahabove i činio je zlo u očima Jahvinim, kao i obitelj Ahabova, jer je s njom bio u rodu.
28 He went with Jehoram son of Ahab to make war on Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth in Gilead, but theAramaeans wounded Jehoram.	28 On je pošao s Joramom, sinom Ahabovim, u Ramot Gilead u boj protiv Hazaela, aramskog kralja.
29 King Jehoram returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds which he had received at Ramah,fighting against Hazael king of Aram. Ahaziah son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to Jezreel to visitJehoram son of Ahab because he was ailing.	29 Kralj Joram vratio se u Jizreel da se liječi od rana što mu ih zadadoše u Rami kad se borio s aramejskim kraljem Hazaelom. Joramov sin Ahazja, judejski kralj, sišao je u Jizreel da posjeti Ahabova sina Jorama jer se Joram razbolio.
