2 Samuel 5

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 Al the tribes of Israel then came to David at Hebron and said, 'Look, we are your own flesh and bone.	1 وجاء جميع اسباط اسرائيل الى داود الى حبرون وتكلموا قائلين هوذا عظمك ولحمك نحن.
2 In days past when Saul was our king, it was you who led Israel on its campaigns, and to you it was thatYahweh promised, "You are to shepherd my people Israel and be leader of Israel." '	2 ومنذ امس وما قبله حين كان شاول ملكا علينا قد كنت انت تخرج وتدخل اسرائيل وقد قال لك الرب انت ترعى شعبي اسرائيل وانت تكون رئيسا على اسرائيل.
3 So al the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a pact with them inYahweh's presence at Hebron, and they anointed David as king of Israel.	3 وجاء جميع شيوخ اسرائيل الى الملك الى حبرون فقطع الملك داود معهم عهدا في حبرون امام الرب ومسحوا داود ملكا على اسرائيل
4 David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned for forty years.	4 كان داود ابن ثلاثين سنة حين ملك وملك اربعين سنة.
5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah for seven years and six months; then he reigned in Jerusalem over allIsrael and Judah for thirty-three years.	5 في حبرون ملك على يهوذا سبع سنين وستة اشهر. وفي اورشليم ملك ثلاثا وثلاثين سنة على جميع اسرائيل ويهوذا.
6 The king and his men then marched on Jerusalem, on the Jebusites living in the territory. These said toDavid, 'You wil not get in here. The blind and the lame wil hold you off.' (That is to say: David will never get inhere.)	6 وذهب الملك ورجاله الى اورشليم الى اليبوسيين سكان الارض. فكلموا داود قائلين لا تدخل الى هنا ما لم تنزع العميان والعرج. اي لا يدخل داود الى هنا.
7 But David captured the citadel of Zion, that is, the City of David.	7 واخذ داود حصن صهيون. هي مدينة داود.
8 That day, David said, 'Whoever gets up the tunnel and kil s a Jebusite . . .' As for the blind and thelame, David hated them with his whole being. (Hence the saying: the blind and the lame may not enter theTemple.)	8 وقال داود في ذلك اليوم ان الذي يضرب اليبوسيين ويبلغ الى القناة والعرج والعمي المبغضين من نفس داود*****لذلك يقولون لا يدخل البيت اعمى او اعرج.
9 David went to live in the citadel and cal ed it the City of David. David then built a wal round it, from theMil o inwards.	9 واقام داود في الحصن وسمّاه مدينة داود. وبنى داود مستديرا من القلعة فداخلا.
10 David grew stronger and stronger, and Yahweh, God of Sabaoth, was with him.	10 وكان داود يتزايد متعظما والرب اله الجنود معه
11 Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, with cedar wood, carpenters and stone-cutters, who builtDavid a palace.	11 وارسل حيرام ملك صور رسلا الى داود وخشب ارز ونجارين وبنّائين فبنوا لداود بيتا.
12 David then knew that Yahweh had confirmed him as king of Israel and, for the sake of his peopleIsrael, had extended his sovereignty.	12 وعلم داود ان الرب قد اثبته ملكا على اسرائيل وانه قد رفّع ملكه من اجل شعبه اسرائيل.
13 After coming from Hebron, David took other concubines and wives in Jerusalem, and sons anddaughters were born to him.	13 واخذ داود ايضا سراري ونساء من اورشليم بعد مجيئه من حبرون فولد ايضا لداود بنون وبنات.
14 These are the names of those born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,	14 وهذه اسماء الذين ولدوا له في اورشليم. شموع وشوباب وناثان وسليمان
15 Ibhar, Elishua, Nepheg, Japhia,	15 ويبحار واليشوع ونافج ويافيع
16 Elishama, Eliada, Eliphelet.	16 واليشمع واليداع واليفلط
17 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed as king of Israel, they all went up to seekhim out. On hearing this, David went down to the stronghold.	17 وسمع الفلسطينيون انهم قد مسحوا داود ملكا على اسرائيل فصعد جميع الفلسطينيين ليفتّشوا على داود. ولما سمع داود نزل الى الحصن.
18 When the Philistines arrived, they deployed in the Val ey of the Rephaim.	18 وجاء الفلسطينيون وانتشروا في وادي الرفائيين.
19 David consulted Yahweh and asked, 'Shal I attack the Philistines? Wil you deliver them into mypower?' Yahweh replied to David, 'Attack! I shal certainly deliver the Philistines into your power.'	19 وسأل داود من الرب قائلا أأصعد الى الفلسطينيين. أتدفعهم ليدي. فقال الرب لداود اصعد لاني دفعا ادفع الفلسطينيين ليدك.
20 Accordingly, David went to Baal-Perazim and there David defeated them. He said, 'Yahweh has madea breach in my enemies for me, as though they had been breached by a flood.' This is why the place was giventhe name Baal-Perazim.	20 فجاء داود الى بعل فراصيم وضربهم داود هناك وقال قد اقتحم الرب اعدائي امامي كاقتحام المياه. لذلك دعا اسم ذلك الموضع بعل فراصيم.
21 They had left their gods behind them there, and David and his men carried them off.	21 وتركوا هناك اصنامهم فنزعها داود ورجاله
22 Again the Philistines invaded and deployed in the Valley of the Rephaim.	22 ثم عاد الفلسطينيون فصعدوا ايضا وانتشروا في وادي الرفائيين.
23 David consulted Yahweh, who replied, 'Do not attack them from the front; go round to their rear andengage them opposite the balsam trees.	23 فسأل داود من الرب فقال لا تصعد بل در من ورائهم وهلم عليهم مقابل اشجار البكا
24 When you hear the sound of footsteps in the tops of the balsam trees, advance, for that wil beYahweh going out ahead of you to defeat the Philistine army.'	24 وعندما تسمع صوت خطوات في رؤوس اشجار البكا حينئذ احترص لانه اذ ذاك يخرج الرب امامك لضرب محلّة الفلسطينيين.
25 David did as Yahweh had ordered and beat the Philistines from Gibeon to the Pass of Gezer.	25 ففعل داود كذلك كما امره الرب وضرب الفلسطينيين من جبع الى مدخل جازر
