1 Al the tribes of Israel then came to David at Hebron and said, 'Look, we are your own flesh and bone.	1 - Tutte le tribù di Israele vennero a Davide in Ebron e gli dissero: «Eccoci, noi siamo tue ossa e tua carne.
2 In days past when Saul was our king, it was you who led Israel on its campaigns, and to you it was thatYahweh promised, "You are to shepherd my people Israel and be leader of Israel." '	2 Già in passato, quando Saul era nostro re, tu conducevi e riconducevi Israele; ora il Signore ti ha detto: - Tu pascerai il mio popolo d'Israele e sarai il duce di Israele -».
3 So al the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a pact with them inYahweh's presence at Hebron, and they anointed David as king of Israel.	3 Vennero anche gli anziani di Israele dal re in Ebron e il re strinse con essi un'alleanza dinanzi al Signore ed essi unsero Davide come re d'Israele.
4 David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned for forty years.	4 Davide aveva trent'anni quando cominciò a regnare e regnò quarant'anni.
5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah for seven years and six months; then he reigned in Jerusalem over allIsrael and Judah for thirty-three years.	5 In Ebron regnò sette anni e sei mesi sopra Giuda, e in Gerusalemme regnò trentatrè anni sopra tutto Israele e Giuda.
6 The king and his men then marched on Jerusalem, on the Jebusites living in the territory. These said toDavid, 'You wil not get in here. The blind and the lame wil hold you off.' 9 David went to live in the citadel and cal ed it the City of David. David then built a wal round it, from theMil o inwards.	9 Davide si stabilì nella fortezza e la chiamò " Città di Davide "; e vi fece attorno delle costruzioni cominciando da Mello e nell'interno.
10 David grew stronger and stronger, and Yahweh, God of Sabaoth, was with him.	10 Per tal modo Davide si veniva facendo sempre più forte e il Signore, Dio degli eserciti, era con lui.
11 Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, with cedar wood, carpenters and stone-cutters, who builtDavid a palace.	11 Iram, re di Tiro, mandò anche egli messaggeri a Davide e legname di cedro e carpentieri e muratori, i quali edificarono una casa a Davide.
12 David then knew that Yahweh had confirmed him as king of Israel and, for the sake of his peopleIsrael, had extended his sovereignty.	12 E Davide riconobbe che il Signore lo aveva confermato re di Israele e aveva innalzato il suo regno sopra il suo popolo Israele.
13 After coming from Hebron, David took other concubines and wives in Jerusalem, and sons anddaughters were born to him.	13 Davide si prese ancora delle concubine e delle mogli di Gerusalemme dopo essere venuto da Ebron; e gli nacquero altri figli e figlie.
14 These are the names of those born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,	14 Ecco i nomi di coloro che gli nacquero in Gerusalemme: Samua, Sobab, Natan, Salomone.
15 Ibhar, Elishua, Nepheg, Japhia,	15 Jebaar, Elisua, Nefeg,
16 Elishama, Eliada, Eliphelet.	16 Jafia, Elisama, Elioda ed Elifalet.
17 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed as king of Israel, they all went up to seekhim out. On hearing this, David went down to the stronghold.	17 Anche i Filistei intesero che Davide era stato unto re d'Israele e ascesero tutti in cerca di lui; e Davide, avendolo saputo, si ritirò nella fortezza.
18 When the Philistines arrived, they deployed in the Val ey of the Rephaim.	18 Arrivati i Filistei si diffusero nella valle di Rafaim
19 David consulted Yahweh and asked, 'Shal I attack the Philistines? Wil you deliver them into mypower?' Yahweh replied to David, 'Attack! I shal certainly deliver the Philistines into your power.'	19 e Davide si consultò col Signore chiedendo: «Salirò io contro i Filistei? Me li darai tu nelle mani?». E il Signore rispose: «Ascendi pure, chè sicuramente ti darò nelle mani i Filistei».
20 Accordingly, David went to Baal-Perazim and there David defeated them. He said, 'Yahweh has madea breach in my enemies for me, as though they had been breached by a flood.' This is why the place was giventhe name Baal-Perazim.	20 Venne perciò Davide a Baal Farasim ed ivi li sconfisse. Poi disse: «Il Signore ha diviso i miei nemici al mio cospetto come si dividono le acque». Perciò venne chiamato quel luogo "Baal Farasim".
21 They had left their gods behind them there, and David and his men carried them off.	21 I Filistei abbandonarono colà i loro idoli che furono da Davide e dai suoi uomini portati via.
22 Again the Philistines invaded and deployed in the Valley of the Rephaim.	22 Un'altra volta salirono i Filistei e si sparsero nella valle di Rafaim.
23 David consulted Yahweh, who replied, 'Do not attack them from the front; go round to their rear andengage them opposite the balsam trees.	23 Davide consultò il Signore: «Salirò io contro i Filistei e me li darai tu nelle mani?». Il Signore gli rispose: «Non salire contro di essi, ma gira alle loro spalle e arriverai contro di essi dalla parte dei peri.
24 When you hear the sound of footsteps in the tops of the balsam trees, advance, for that wil beYahweh going out ahead of you to defeat the Philistine army.'	24 E quando sentirai un rumore di passi sulla cima dei peri allora ingaggerai la battaglia, poichè allora il Signore camminerà innanzi a te per battere l'armata dei Filistei».
25 David did as Yahweh had ordered and beat the Philistines from Gibeon to the Pass of Gezer.	25 Davide fece quanto aveva comandato il Signore e battè i Filistei da Gabaa fino a Gezer.
