NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Al the tribes of Israel then came to David at Hebron and said, 'Look, we are your own flesh and bone.	1 Vinieron todas las tribus de Israel donde David a Hebrón y le dijeron: «Mira: hueso tuyo y carne tuya somos nosotros.
2 In days past when Saul was our king, it was you who led Israel on its campaigns, and to you it was thatYahweh promised, "You are to shepherd my people Israel and be leader of Israel." '	2 Ya de antes, cuando Saúl era nuestro rey, eras tú el que dirigías las entradas y salidas de Israel. Yahveh te ha dicho: Tú apacentarás a mi pueblo Israel, tú serás el caudillo de Israel».
3 So al the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a pact with them inYahweh's presence at Hebron, and they anointed David as king of Israel.	3 Vinieron, pues, todos los ancianos de Israel donde el rey, a Hebrón. El rey David hizo un pacto con ellos en Hebrón, en presencia de Yahveh, y ungieron a David como rey de Israel.
4 David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned for forty years.	4 Treinta años tenía cuando comenzó a reinar y reinó cuarenta años.
5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah for seven years and six months; then he reigned in Jerusalem over allIsrael and Judah for thirty-three years.	5 Reinó en Hebrón sobre Judá siete años y seis meses. Reinó en Jerusalén sobre todo Israel y sobre Judá 33 años.
6 The king and his men then marched on Jerusalem, on the Jebusites living in the territory. These said toDavid, 'You wil not get in here. The blind and the lame wil hold you off.' 7 But David captured the citadel of Zion, that is, the City of David.	7 Pero David conquistó la fortaleza de Sión que es la Ciudad de David.
8 That day, David said, 'Whoever gets up the tunnel and kil s a Jebusite . . .' As for the blind and thelame, David hated them with his whole being. (Hence the saying: the blind and the lame may not enter theTemple.)	8 Y dijo David aquel día: «Todo el que quiera atacar a los jebuseos que suba por el canal..., en cuanto a los ciegos y a los cojos, David los aborrece». Por eso se dice: «Ni cojo ni ciego entrarán en la Casa».
9 David went to live in the citadel and cal ed it the City of David. David then built a wal round it, from theMil o inwards.	9 David se instaló en la fortaleza y la llamó Ciudad de David. Edificó una muralla en derredor, desde el Milló hacia el interior.
10 David grew stronger and stronger, and Yahweh, God of Sabaoth, was with him.	10 David iba medrando y Yahveh el Dios Sebaot estaba con él.
11 Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, with cedar wood, carpenters and stone-cutters, who builtDavid a palace.	11 Jiram, rey de Tiro, envió a David mensajeros con maderas de cedro, carpinteros y canteros que construyeron la casa de David.
12 David then knew that Yahweh had confirmed him as king of Israel and, for the sake of his peopleIsrael, had extended his sovereignty.	12 Y David conoció que Yahveh le había confirmado como rey de Israel y que había exaltado su reino a causa de su pueblo Israel.
13 After coming from Hebron, David took other concubines and wives in Jerusalem, and sons anddaughters were born to him.	13 Tomó David más concubinas y mujeres de Jerusalén, después de venir de Hebrón, y le nacieron a David hijos e hijas.
14 These are the names of those born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,	14 Estos son los nombres de los que le nacieron en Jerusalén: Sammúa, Sobab, Natán, Salomón,
15 Ibhar, Elishua, Nepheg, Japhia,	15 Yibjar, Elisua, Néfeg, Yafía,

17 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed as king of Israel, they all went up to seekhim out. On hearing this, David went down to the stronghold.	17 Cuando los filisteos oyeron que David había sido ungido rey de Israel, subieron todos en busca de David. Lo supo David y bajó al refugio.
18 When the Philistines arrived, they deployed in the Val ey of the Rephaim.	18 Llegaron los filisteos y se desplegaron por el Valle de Refaím.
19 David consulted Yahweh and asked, 'Shal I attack the Philistines? Wil you deliver them into mypower?' Yahweh replied to David, 'Attack! I shal certainly deliver the Philistines into your power.'	19 Entonces David consultó a Yahveh diciendo: «¿Debo subir contra los filisteos? ¿Los entregarás en mis manos?» Respondió Yahveh a David: «Sube, porque ciertamente entregaré a los filisteos en tus manos».
20 Accordingly, David went to Baal-Perazim and there David defeated them. He said, 'Yahweh has madea breach in my enemies for me, as though they had been breached by a flood.' This is why the place was giventhe name Baal-Perazim.	20 Llegó David a Baal Perasim. Allí los derrotó David y dijo: «Yahveh me ha abierto brecha entre mis enemigos como brecha de aguas». Por eso se llamó aquel lugar Baal Perasim.
21 They had left their gods behind them there, and David and his men carried them off.	21 Ellos abandonaron allí sus ídolos y David y sus hombres se los llevaron.
22 Again the Philistines invaded and deployed in the Valley of the Rephaim.	22 Volvieron a subir los filisteos y se desplegaron por el Valle de Refaím.
23 David consulted Yahweh, who replied, 'Do not attack them from the front; go round to their rear andengage them opposite the balsam trees.	23 David consultó a Yahveh, que le dijo: «No subas contra ellos. Da un rodeo detrás de ellos y atácalos frente a las balsameras.
24 When you hear the sound of footsteps in the tops of the balsam trees, advance, for that wil beYahweh going out ahead of you to defeat the Philistine army.'	24 Cuando oigas ruido de pasos en la cima de las balsameras, ataca con decisión porque Yahveh sale delante de ti para derrotar al ejército de los filisteos».
25 David did as Yahweh had ordered and beat the Philistines from Gibeon to the Pass of Gezer.	25 Hizo David lo que Yahveh le ordenaba y batió a los filisteos desde Gabaón hasta la entrada de Guézer.
