NEW AMERICAN BIBLENOVA VULGATA
He said to his disciples, "Things that cause sin will inevitably occur, but woe to the person through whom they occur.1 Et ad discipulos suos ait: “ Impossibile est ut non ve niant scandala;vae autem illi, per quem veniunt!
It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.2 Utilius est illi, si lapis molaris imponaturcirca collum eius et proiciatur in mare, quam ut scandalizet unum de pusillisistis.
Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.3 Attendite vobis!
Si peccaverit frater tuus, increpa illum et, si paenitentiam egerit, dimitteilli;
And if he wrongs you seven times in one day and returns to you seven times saying, 'I am sorry,' you should forgive him."4 et si septies in die peccaverit in te et septies conversus fuerit ad tedicens: “Paenitet me”, dimittes illi ”.
And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."5 Et dixerunt apostoli Domino: “ Adauge nobis fidem! ”.
The Lord replied, "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to (this) mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.6 Dixit autemDominus: “ Si haberetis fidem sicut granum sinapis, diceretis huic arborimoro: “Eradicare et transplantare in mare”, et oboediret vobis.
"Who among you would say to your servant who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field, 'Come here immediately and take your place at table'?7 Quis autemvestrum habens servum arantem aut pascentem, qui regresso de agro dicet illi:“Statim transi, recumbe”,
Would he not rather say to him, 'Prepare something for me to eat. Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink. You may eat and drink when I am finished'?8 et non dicet ei: “Para, quod cenem, etpraecinge te et ministra mihi, donec manducem et bibam, et post haec tumanducabis et bibes”?
Is he grateful to that servant because he did what was commanded?9 Numquid gratiam habet servo illi, quia fecit, quaepraecepta sunt?
So should it be with you. When you have done all you have been commanded, say, 'We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we were obliged to do.'"10 Sic et vos, cum feceritis omnia, quae praecepta sunt vobis,dicite: “Servi inutiles sumus; quod debuimus facere, fecimus” ”.
As he continued his journey to Jerusalem, he traveled through Samaria and Galilee.11 Et factum est, dum iret in Ierusalem, et ipse transibat per mediam Samariamet Galilaeam.
As he was entering a village, ten lepers met (him). They stood at a distance from him12 Et cum ingrederetur quoddam castellum, occurrerunt ei decemviri leprosi, qui steterunt a longe
and raised their voice, saying, "Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!"13 et levaverunt vocem dicentes: “ Iesupraeceptor, miserere nostri! ”.
And when he saw them, he said, "Go show yourselves to the priests." As they were going they were cleansed.14 Quos ut vidit, dixit: “ Ite, ostenditevos sacerdotibus ”. Et factum est, dum irent, mundati sunt.
And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice;15 Unus autem exillis, ut vidit quia sanatus est, regressus est cum magna voce magnificans Deum
and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan.16 et cecidit in faciem ante pedes eius gratias agens ei; et hic eratSamaritanus.
Jesus said in reply, "Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine?17 Respondens autem Iesus dixit: “ Nonne decem mundati sunt? Etnovem ubi sunt?
Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?"18 Non sunt inventi qui redirent, ut darent gloriam Deo, nisihic alienigena? ”.
Then he said to him, "Stand up and go; your faith has saved you."19 Et ait illi: “ Surge, vade; fides tua te salvum fecit”.
Asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he said in reply, "The coming of the kingdom of God cannot be observed,20 Interrogatus autem a pharisaeis: “ Quando venit regnum Dei? ”, responditeis et dixit: “ Non venit regnum Dei cum observatione,
and no one will announce, 'Look, here it is,' or, 'There it is.' For behold, the kingdom of God is among you."21 neque dicent: “Eccehic” aut: “Illic”; ecce enim regnum Dei intra vos est ”.
Then he said to his disciples, "The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.22 Et ait addiscipulos: “ Venient dies, quando desideretis videre unum diem Filii hominiset non videbitis.
There will be those who will say to you, 'Look, there he is,' (or) 'Look, here he is.' Do not go off, do not run in pursuit.23 Et dicent vobis: “Ecce hic”, “Ecce illic”; noliteire neque sectemini.
For just as lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be (in his day).24 Nam sicut fulgur coruscans de sub caelo in ea, quae subcaelo sunt, fulget, ita erit Filius hominis in die sua.
But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.25 Primum autem oportetillum multa pati et reprobari a generatione hac.
As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man;26 Et sicut factum est indiebus Noe, ita erit et in diebus Filii hominis:
they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage up to the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.27 edebant, bibebant, uxoresducebant, dabantur ad nuptias, usque in diem, qua intravit Noe in arcam, etvenit diluvium et perdidit omnes.
Similarly, as it was in the days of Lot: they were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building;28 Similiter sicut factum est in diebus Lot:edebant, bibebant, emebant, vendebant, plantabant, aedificabant;
on the day when Lot left Sodom, fire and brimstone rained from the sky to destroy them all.29 qua dieautem exiit Lot a Sodomis, pluit ignem et sulphur de caelo et omnes perdidit.
So it will be on the day the Son of Man is revealed.30 Secundum haec erit, qua die Filius hominis revelabitur.
On that day, a person who is on the housetop and whose belongings are in the house must not go down to get them, and likewise a person in the field must not return to what was left behind.31 In illa die, quifuerit in tecto, et vasa eius in domo, ne descendat tollere illa; et, qui inagro, similiter non redeat retro.
Remember the wife of Lot.32 Memores estote uxoris Lot.
Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will save it.33 Quicumquequaesierit animam suam salvam facere, perdet illam; et, quicumque perdideritillam, vivificabit eam.
I tell you, on that night there will be two people in one bed; one will be taken, the other left.34 Dico vobis: Illa nocte erunt duo in lecto uno:
unus assumetur, et alter relinquetur;
And there will be two women grinding meal together; one will be taken, the other left."35 duae erunt molentes in unum: unaassumetur, et altera relinquetur ”.
(36) 37 Respondentes dicunt illi: “ Ubi,Domine? ”. Qui dixit eis: “ Ubicumque fuerit corpus, illuc congregabuntur etaquilae ”.

They said to him in reply, "Where, Lord?" He said to them, "Where the body is, there also the vultures will gather."
