NEW AMERICAN BIBLEKING JAMES BIBLE
He said to his disciples, "Things that cause sin will inevitably occur, but woe to the person through whom they occur.1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
And if he wrongs you seven times in one day and returns to you seven times saying, 'I am sorry,' you should forgive him."4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
The Lord replied, "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to (this) mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
"Who among you would say to your servant who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field, 'Come here immediately and take your place at table'?7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
Would he not rather say to him, 'Prepare something for me to eat. Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink. You may eat and drink when I am finished'?8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
Is he grateful to that servant because he did what was commanded?9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
So should it be with you. When you have done all you have been commanded, say, 'We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we were obliged to do.'"10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
As he continued his journey to Jerusalem, he traveled through Samaria and Galilee.11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
As he was entering a village, ten lepers met (him). They stood at a distance from him12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
and raised their voice, saying, "Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!"13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
And when he saw them, he said, "Go show yourselves to the priests." As they were going they were cleansed.14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice;15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan.16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
Jesus said in reply, "Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine?17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?"18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
Then he said to him, "Stand up and go; your faith has saved you."19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
Asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he said in reply, "The coming of the kingdom of God cannot be observed,20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
and no one will announce, 'Look, here it is,' or, 'There it is.' For behold, the kingdom of God is among you."21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Then he said to his disciples, "The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.22 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.
There will be those who will say to you, 'Look, there he is,' (or) 'Look, here he is.' Do not go off, do not run in pursuit.23 And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.
For just as lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be (in his day).24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man;26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage up to the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
Similarly, as it was in the days of Lot: they were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building;28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
on the day when Lot left Sodom, fire and brimstone rained from the sky to destroy them all.29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
So it will be on the day the Son of Man is revealed.30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
On that day, a person who is on the housetop and whose belongings are in the house must not go down to get them, and likewise a person in the field must not return to what was left behind.31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
Remember the wife of Lot.32 Remember Lot's wife.
Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will save it.33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
I tell you, on that night there will be two people in one bed; one will be taken, the other left.34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
And there will be two women grinding meal together; one will be taken, the other left."35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
They said to him in reply, "Where, Lord?" He said to them, "Where the body is, there also the vultures will gather."37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
