NEW AMERICAN BIBLEDOUAI-RHEIMS
After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.1 And in the end of the sabbath, when it began to dawn towards the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalen and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre.
And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, approached, rolled back the stone, and sat upon it.2 And behold there was a great earthquake. For an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and coming, rolled back the stone, and sat upon it.
His appearance was like lightning and his clothing was white as snow.3 And his countenance was as lightning, and his raiment as snow.
The guards were shaken with fear of him and became like dead men.4 And for fear of him, the guards were struck with terror, and became as dead men.
Then the angel said to the women in reply, "Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified.5 And the angel answering, said to the women: Fear not you; for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.6 He is not here, for he is risen, as he said. Come, and see the place where the Lord was laid.
Then go quickly and tell his disciples, 'He has been raised from the dead, and he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him.' Behold, I have told you."7 And going quickly, tell ye his disciples that he is risen: and behold he will go before you into Galilee; there you shall see him. Lo, I have foretold it to you.
Then they went away quickly from the tomb, fearful yet overjoyed, and ran to announce this to his disciples.8 And they went out quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy, running to tell his disciples.
And behold, Jesus met them on their way and greeted them. They approached, embraced his feet, and did him homage.9 And behold Jesus met them, saying: All hail. But they came up and took hold of his feet, and adored him.
Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me."10 Then Jesus said to them: Fear not. Go, tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, there they shall see me.
While they were going, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had happened.11 Who when they were departed, behold some of the guards came into the city, and told the chief priests all things that had been done.
They assembled with the elders and took counsel; then they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,12 And they being assembled together with the ancients, taking counsel, gave a great sum of money to the soldiers,
telling them, "You are to say, 'His disciples came by night and stole him while we were asleep.'13 Saying: Say you, His disciples came by night, and stole him away when we were asleep.
And if this gets to the ears of the governor, we will satisfy (him) and keep you out of trouble."14 And if the governor shall hear this, we will persuade him, and secure you.
The soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has circulated among the Jews to the present (day).15 So they taking the money, did as they were taught: and this word was spread abroad among the Jews even unto this day.
The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them.16 And the eleven disciples went into Galilee, unto the mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted.17 And seeing them they adored: but some doubted.
Then Jesus approached and said to them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.18 And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit,19 Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.
