The LORD is king; let the earth rejoice; let the many islands be glad.1 A Psalm of David himself. Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has performed wonders. His right hand has accomplished salvation for him, with his holy arm.
Cloud and darkness surround the Lord; justice and right are the foundation of his throne.2 The Lord has made known his salvation. He has revealed his justice in the sight of the nations.
Fire goes before him; everywhere it consumes the foes.3 He has remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
Lightning illumines the world; the earth sees and trembles.4 Sing joyfully to God, all the earth. Sing and exult, and sing psalms.
The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.5 Sing psalms to the Lord with stringed instruments, with strings and the voice of a psalmist,
The heavens proclaim God's justice; all peoples see his glory.6 with subtle wind instruments and the voice of woodwinds. Make a joyful noise before the Lord our king.
All who serve idols are put to shame, who glory in worthless things; all gods bow down before you.7 Let the sea be moved and all its fullness, the whole world and all who dwell in it.
Zion hears and is glad, and the cities of Judah rejoice because of your judgments, O LORD.8 The rivers will clap their hands, the mountains will exult together,
You, LORD, are the Most High over all the earth, exalted far above all gods.9 before the presence of the Lord. For he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the whole world with justice, and the peoples with fairness.
The LORD loves those who hate evil, protects the lives of the faithful, rescues them from the hand of the wicked.
Light dawns for the just; gladness, for the honest of heart.
Rejoice in the LORD, you just, and praise his holy name.
