Psalms 97

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	LXX
1 The LORD is king; let the earth rejoice; let the many islands be glad.	1 ψαλμος τω δαυιδ ασατε τω κυριω ασμα καινον οτι θαυμαστα εποιησεν κυριος εσωσεν αυτω η δεξια αυτου και ο βραχιων ο αγιος αυτου
2 Cloud and darkness surround the Lord; justice and right are the foundation of his throne.	2 εγνωρισεν κυριος το σωτηριον αυτου εναντιον των εθνων απεκαλυψεν την δικαιοσυνην αυτου
3 Fire goes before him; everywhere it consumes the foes.	3 εμνησθη του ελεους αυτου τω ιακωβ και της αληθειας αυτου τω οικω ισραηλ ειδοσαν παντα τα περατα της γης το σωτηριον του θεου ημων
4 Lightning illumines the world; the earth sees and trembles.	4 αλαλαξατε τω θεω πασα η γη ασατε και αγαλλιασθε και ψαλατε
5 The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.	5 ψαλατε τω κυριω εν κιθαρα εν κιθαρα και φωνη ψαλμου
6 The heavens proclaim God's justice; all peoples see his glory.	6 εν σαλπιγξιν ελαταις και φωνη σαλπιγγος κερατινης αλαλαξατε ενωπιον του βασιλεως κυριου
7 All who serve idols are put to shame, who glory in worthless things; all gods bow down before you.	7 σαλευθητω η θαλασσα και το πληρωμα αυτης η οικουμενη και οι κατοικουντες εν αυτη
8 Zion hears and is glad, and the cities of Judah rejoice because of your judgments, O LORD.	8 ποταμοι κροτησουσιν χειρι επι το αυτο τα ορη αγαλλιασονται
9 You, LORD, are the Most High over all the earth, exalted far above all gods.	9 οτι ηκει κριναι την γην κρινει την οικουμενην εν δικαιοσυνη και λαους εν ευθυτητι
10 The LORD loves those who hate evil, protects the lives of the faithful, rescues them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Light dawns for the just; gladness, for the honest of heart.
12 Rejoice in the LORD, you just, and praise his holy name.
