1 Of David. A maskil. Happy the sinner whose fault is removed, whose sin is forgiven.	1 Maschil di Davide BEATO colui la cui trasgressione è rimessa, E il cui peccato è coperto!
2 Happy those to whom the LORD imputes no guilt, in whose spirit is no deceit.	2 Beato l’uomo a cui il Signore non imputa iniquità, E nel cui spirito non vi è frode alcuna!
3 As long as I kept silent, my bones wasted away; I groaned all the day.	3 Mentre io mi son taciuto, le mie ossa si sono invecchiate, Nel mio ruggire di tutto dì.
4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength withered as in dry summer heat. Selah	4 Perciocchè giorno e notte la tua mano era aggravata sopra me, L’umor mio era divenuto simile ad arsure di state. Sela.
5 Then I declared my sin to you; my guilt I did not hide. I said, "I confess my faults to the LORD," and you took away the guilt of my sin. Selah	5 Io ti ho dichiarato il mio peccato, non ho coperta la mia iniquità, Io ho detto: Io confesserò le mie trasgressioni al Signore; E tu hai rimessa l’iniquità del mio peccato. Sela.
6 Thus should all your faithful pray in time of distress. Though flood waters threaten, they will never reach them.	6 Perciò ogni uomo pio ti farà orazione Nel tempo che tu puoi esser trovato; Nel tempo di diluvio di grandi acque, esse non pur perverranno a lui
7 You are my shelter; from distress you keep me; with safety you ring me round. Selah	7 Tu sei il mio ricetto, tu mi guarderai di distretta, Tu mi circonderai di canti di liberazione. Sela.
8 I will instruct you and show you the way you should walk, give you counsel and watch over you.	8 Io voglio ammaestrarti ed insegnarti la via, Per la quale devi camminare; E consigliarti, avendo l’occhio sopra te.
9 Do not be senseless like horses or mules; with bit and bridle their temper is curbed, else they will not come to you.	9 Non siate come il cavallo, nè come il mulo, che sono senza intelletto; La cui bocca conviene frenare con morso e con freno, Altrimenti non si accosterebbero a te.
10 Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but love surrounds those who trust in the LORD.	10 Molti dolori avverranno all’empio; Ma benignità intornierà colui che si confida nel Signore.
11 Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you just; exult, all you upright of heart.	11 Rallegratevi nel Signore, e fate festa, o giusti; E giubilate, voi tutti che siete diritti di cuore
