2 Deliver me, LORD, from the wicked; preserve me from the violent,	2 Izbavi me, Jahve, od čovjeka zlobna, zaštiti me od čovjeka nasilna:
3 From those who plan evil in their hearts, who stir up conflicts every day,	3 od onih koji pakosti u srcu smišljaju i čitav dan začinju kavge.
4 Who sharpen their tongues like serpents, venom of asps upon their lips. Selah	4 Kao zmije bruse jezike svoje, pod usnama im je otrov ljutičin.
5 Keep me, LORD, from the clutches of the wicked; preserve me from the violent, who plot to trip me up.	5 Spasi me, Jahve, od ruku zlotvora, čuvaj me od čovjeka nasilna koji hoće da mi noga posrne.
6 The arrogant have set a trap for me; villains have spread a net, laid snares for me by the wayside. Selah	6 Oholice mi potajno postavljaju zamku, užetima mrežu pletu, kraj puta klopke mi stavljaju.
7 I say to the LORD: You are my God; listen, LORD, to the words of my prayer.	7 Zavapih Jahvi: »Ti si Bog moj! Poslušaj, o Jahve, krik mojih molitava!
8 My revered LORD, my strong helper, my helmet on the day of battle.	8 Jahve, Gospode moj, spasitelju silni moj, u dan boja zakloni mi glavu!«
9 LORD, do not grant the desires of the wicked; do not let their plots succeed. Selah	9 Ne daj da se ispune želje zlotvora, ne daj da svoje on izvrši namjere!
10 Around me they raise their proud heads; may the mischief they threaten overwhelm them.	10 Nek’ glavu ne podignu oni koji me opkoliše, nek’ na njih padne zloba njihovih usana!
11 May God rain burning coals upon them, cast them into the grave never more to rise.	11 Nek’ daždi po njima ugljevlje ognjeno, nek’ se strovale u jamu da više ne ustanu!
12 Slanderers will not survive on earth; evil will quickly entrap the violent.	12 Opadač se neće održat’ na zemlji, silnika će odjednom zgrabiti nesreća.
13 For I know the LORD will secure justice for the needy, their rights for the poor.	13 Znam da će Jahve dati pravo ubogu i pravicu siromasima.
14 Then the just will give thanks to your name; the upright will dwell in your presence.	14 Zaista, pravedni će tvoje ime slaviti, pred tvojim će licem boraviti čestiti.
