2 Deliver me, LORD, from the wicked; preserve me from the violent,	2 Liberami, Signore, dall’uomo malvagio,proteggimi dall’uomo violento,
3 From those who plan evil in their hearts, who stir up conflicts every day,	3 da quelli che tramano cose malvagie nel cuoree ogni giorno scatenano guerre.
4 Who sharpen their tongues like serpents, venom of asps upon their lips. Selah	4 Aguzzano la lingua come serpenti,veleno di vipera è sotto le loro labbra.
5 Keep me, LORD, from the clutches of the wicked; preserve me from the violent, who plot to trip me up.	5 Proteggimi, Signore, dalle mani dei malvagi,salvami dall’uomo violento:essi tramano per farmi cadere.
6 The arrogant have set a trap for me; villains have spread a net, laid snares for me by the wayside. Selah	6 I superbi hanno nascosto lacci e funi,hanno teso una rete sul mio sentieroe contro di me hanno preparato agguati.
7 I say to the LORD: You are my God; listen, LORD, to the words of my prayer.	7 Io dico al Signore: tu sei il mio Dio;ascolta, Signore, la voce della mia supplica.
8 My revered LORD, my strong helper, my helmet on the day of battle.	8 Signore Dio, forza che mi salva,proteggi il mio capo nel giorno della lotta.
9 LORD, do not grant the desires of the wicked; do not let their plots succeed. Selah	9 Non soddisfare, Signore, i desideri dei malvagi,non favorire le loro trame.Alzano
10 Around me they raise their proud heads; may the mischief they threaten overwhelm them.	10 la testa quelli che mi circondano;ma la malizia delle loro labbra li sommerga!
11 May God rain burning coals upon them, cast them into the grave never more to rise.	11 Piovano su di loro carboni ardenti;gettali nella fossa e più non si rialzino.
12 Slanderers will not survive on earth; evil will quickly entrap the violent.	12 L’uomo maldicente non duri sulla terra,il male insegua l’uomo violento fino alla rovina.
13 For I know the LORD will secure justice for the needy, their rights for the poor.	13 So che il Signore difende la causa dei poveri,il diritto dei bisognosi.
14 Then the just will give thanks to your name; the upright will dwell in your presence.	14 Sì, i giusti loderanno il tuo nome,gli uomini retti abiteranno alla tua presenza.
