1 For the leader. A psalm of David.	1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמֹור לְדָוִד
2 Deliver me, LORD, from the wicked; preserve me from the violent,	2 חַלְּצֵנִי יְהוָה מֵאָדָם רָע מֵאִישׁ חֲמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵנִי
3 From those who plan evil in their hearts, who stir up conflicts every day,	3 אֲשֶׁר חָשְׁבוּ רָעֹות בְּלֵב כָּל־יֹום יָגוּרוּ מִלְחָמֹות
4 Who sharpen their tongues like serpents, venom of asps upon their lips. Selah	4 שָׁנֲנוּ לְשֹׁונָם כְּמֹו־נָחָשׁ חֲמַת עַכְשׁוּב תַּחַת שְׂפָתֵימֹו סֶלָה
5 Keep me, LORD, from the clutches of the wicked; preserve me from the violent, who plot to trip me up.	5 שָׁמְרֵנִי יְהוָה ׀ מִידֵי רָשָׁע מֵאִישׁ חֲמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵנִי אֲשֶׁר חָשְׁבוּ לִדְחֹות פְּעָמָי
6 The arrogant have set a trap for me; villains have spread a net, laid snares for me by the wayside. Selah	6 טָמְנוּ־גֵאִים ׀ פַּח לִי וַחֲבָלִים פָּרְשׂוּ רֶשֶׁת לְיַד־מַעְגָּל מֹקְשִׁים שָׁתוּ־לִי סֶלָה
7 I say to the LORD: You are my God; listen, LORD, to the words of my prayer.	7 אָמַרְתִּי לַיהוָה אֵלִי אָתָּה הַאֲזִינָה יְהוָה קֹול תַּחֲנוּנָי
8 My revered LORD, my strong helper, my helmet on the day of battle.	8 יְהֹוִה אֲדֹנָי עֹז יְשׁוּעָתִי סַכֹּתָה לְרֹאשִׁי בְּיֹום נָשֶׁק
9 LORD, do not grant the desires of the wicked; do not let their plots succeed. Selah	9 אַל־תִּתֵּן יְהוָה מַאֲוַיֵּי רָשָׁע זְמָמֹו אַל־תָּפֵק יָרוּמוּ סֶלָה
10 Around me they raise their proud heads; may the mischief they threaten overwhelm them.	10 רֹאשׁ מְסִבָּי עֲמַל שְׂפָתֵימֹו [יְכַסּוּמֹו כ] (יְכַסֵּמֹו ׃ ק)
11 May God rain burning coals upon them, cast them into the grave never more to rise.	11 [יָמִיטוּ כ] (יִמֹּוטוּ ק) עֲלֵיהֶם גֶּחָלִים בָּאֵשׁ יַפִּלֵם בְּמַהֲמֹרֹות בַּל־יָקוּמוּ
12 Slanderers will not survive on earth; evil will quickly entrap the violent.	12 אִישׁ לָשֹׁון בַּל־יִכֹּון בָּאָרֶץ אִישׁ־חָמָס רָע יְצוּדֶנּוּ לְמַדְחֵפֹת
13 For I know the LORD will secure justice for the needy, their rights for the poor.	13 [יָדַעְתָּ כ] (יָדַעְתִּי ק) כִּי־יַעֲשֶׂה יְהוָה דִּין עָנִי מִשְׁפַּט אֶבְיֹנִים
14 Then the just will give thanks to your name; the upright will dwell in your presence.	14 אַךְ צַדִּיקִים יֹודוּ לִשְׁמֶךָ יֵשְׁבוּ יְשָׁרִים אֶת־פָּנֶיךָ
