2 Deliver me, LORD, from the wicked; preserve me from the violent,	2 Ments meg engem, Uram, a gonosz embertől, szabadíts meg az erőszakos embertől.
3 From those who plan evil in their hearts, who stir up conflicts every day,	3 Akik gonoszságot terveznek szívükben, és egész nap háborúságot keltenek.
4 Who sharpen their tongues like serpents, venom of asps upon their lips. Selah	4 Nyelvüket élesítik, mint a kígyók, vipera mérge van a nyelvük alatt.
5 Keep me, LORD, from the clutches of the wicked; preserve me from the violent, who plot to trip me up.	5 Óvj meg, Uram, a bűnös kezétől, szabadíts meg az erőszakos embertől, akik lépteimnek gáncsot vetnek.
6 The arrogant have set a trap for me; villains have spread a net, laid snares for me by the wayside. Selah	6 Tőrt vetnek nekem titkon a kevélyek, kötelekből hálót feszítenek elém, kelepcét állítanak elém az út mentén.
7 I say to the LORD: You are my God; listen, LORD, to the words of my prayer.	7 Mondom az Úrnak: »Te vagy az én Istenem, hallgasd meg, Uram, hangos könyörgésemet.«
8 My revered LORD, my strong helper, my helmet on the day of battle.	8 Uram, Uram, erős segítségem, takard be fejemet a harc napján.
9 LORD, do not grant the desires of the wicked; do not let their plots succeed. Selah	9 Ne add meg, Uram, amit a gonosz kíván, ne hagyd beteljesülni terveit.
10 Around me they raise their proud heads; may the mischief they threaten overwhelm them.	10 Fölemelik körülöttem fejüket, borítsa el őket önnön ajkuk gonoszsága!
11 May God rain burning coals upon them, cast them into the grave never more to rise.	11 Hulljon rájuk izzó parázs, vesd őket a mélységbe, hogy föl ne keljenek.
12 Slanderers will not survive on earth; evil will quickly entrap the violent.	12 Ne legyen maradása az országban a szájhősnek, gonoszsága ragadja veszedelembe az erőszakost.
13 For I know the LORD will secure justice for the needy, their rights for the poor.	13 Tudom, hogy az Úr jogot szolgáltat a szűkölködőknek és igazságot a szegényeknek.
14 Then the just will give thanks to your name; the upright will dwell in your presence.	14 Áldják majd nevedet az igazak, és színed előtt laknak az egyenes lelkűek.
