1 A song; a psalm of David	1 Canto. Salmo. Di Davide.
2 My heart is steadfast, God; my heart is steadfast. I will sing and chant praise.	2 Pronto è il mio cuore, o Dio: voglio cantare e inneggiare; così pure l'animo mio.
3 Awake, my soul; awake, lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn.	3 Destatevi, arpa e cetra, perché possa destar l'aurora.
4 I will praise you among the peoples, LORD; I will chant your praise among the nations.	4 Ti celebrerò fra i popoli, Signore, e a te inneggerò fra le nazioni;
5 For your love towers to the heavens; your faithfulness, to the skies.	5 poiché grande fino ai cieli è la sua misericordia, fino alle nubi la sua fedeltà.
6 Appear on high over the heavens, God; may your glory appear above all the earth.	6 Sii esaltato fino al cielo, o Dio, s'estenda la tua gloria su tutta la terra.
7 Help with your right hand and answer us that your loved ones may escape.	7 Affinché siano salvi i tuoi eletti, porta salvezza con la tua destra ed esaudiscici!
8 God promised in the sanctuary: "I will exult, I will apportion Shechem; the valley of Succoth I will measure out.	8 Dio parla nel suo santuario: "Esulterò e spartirò Sichem, dividerò la valle di Succot.
9 Gilead is mine, mine is Manasseh; Ephraim is the helmet for my head, Judah, my own scepter.	9 Mio è Gàlaad e mio è Manasse: Efraim è l'elmo del mio capo; Giuda il mio scettro;
10 Moab is my washbowl; upon Edom I cast my sandal; I will triumph over Philistia."	10 Moab, il catino del mio lavacro; su Edom getto le calzature; sulla Filistea io voglio esultare".
11 Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me into Edom?	11 Chi vorrà portarmi alla città munita? Chi vorrà guidarmi sino a Edom?
12 Was it not you who rejected us, God? Do you no longer march with our armies?	12 Non sei stato forse tu a rigettarci? E non esci più, o Dio, alla testa delle nostre schiere?
13 Give us aid against the foe; worthless is human help.	13 Dacci tu l'aiuto contro l'avversario, vano è infatti il soccorso dell'uomo.
14 We will triumph with the help of God, who will trample down our foes.	14 Con Dio faremo prodigi, sarà egli ad abbattere i nostri nemici.
