1 A song; a psalm of David	1 [Ein Lied. Ein Psalm Davids.]
2 My heart is steadfast, God; my heart is steadfast. I will sing and chant praise.	2 Mein Herz ist bereit, o Gott, mein Herz ist bereit, ich will dir singen und spielen. Wach auf, meine Seele!
3 Awake, my soul; awake, lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn.	3 Wacht auf, Harfe und Saitenspiel! Ich will das Morgenrot wecken.
4 I will praise you among the peoples, LORD; I will chant your praise among the nations.	4 Ich will dich vor den Völkern preisen, Herr, dir vor den Nationen lobsingen.
5 For your love towers to the heavens; your faithfulness, to the skies.	5 Denn deine Güte reicht, so weit der Himmel ist, deine Treue, so weit die Wolken ziehn.
6 Appear on high over the heavens, God; may your glory appear above all the earth.	6 Erheb dich über die Himmel, o Gott! Deine Herrlichkeit erscheine über der ganzen Erde.
7 Help with your right hand and answer us that your loved ones may escape.	7 Hilf mit deiner Rechten, erhöre uns, damit die gerettet werden, die du so sehr liebst.
8 God promised in the sanctuary: "I will exult, I will apportion Shechem; the valley of Succoth I will measure out.	8 Gott hat in seinem Heiligtum gesprochen: «Ich will triumphieren, will Sichem verteilen und das Tal von Sukkot vermessen.
9 Gilead is mine, mine is Manasseh; Ephraim is the helmet for my head, Judah, my own scepter.	9 Mein ist Gilead, mein auch Manasse, Efraim ist der Helm auf meinem Haupt, Juda mein Herrscherstab.
10 Moab is my washbowl; upon Edom I cast my sandal; I will triumph over Philistia."	10 Doch Moab ist mein Waschbecken, auf Edom werfe ich meinen Schuh, ich triumphiere über das Land der Philister.»
11 Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me into Edom?	11 Wer führt mich hin zu der befestigten Stadt, wer wird mich nach Edom geleiten?
12 Was it not you who rejected us, God? Do you no longer march with our armies?	12 Gott, hast denn du uns verworfen? Du ziehst ja nicht aus, o Gott, mit unsern Heeren.
13 Give us aid against the foe; worthless is human help.	13 Bring uns doch Hilfe im Kampf mit dem Feind! Denn die Hilfe von Menschen ist nutzlos.
14 We will triumph with the help of God, who will trample down our foes.	14 Mit Gott werden wir Großes vollbringen; er selbst wird unsere Feinde zertreten.
