NEW AMERICAN BIBLEKING JAMES BIBLE
A song; a psalm of David1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.
My heart is steadfast, God; my heart is steadfast. I will sing and chant praise.2 Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.
Awake, my soul; awake, lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn.3 I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.
I will praise you among the peoples, LORD; I will chant your praise among the nations.4 For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.
For your love towers to the heavens; your faithfulness, to the skies.5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;
Appear on high over the heavens, God; may your glory appear above all the earth.6 That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me.
Help with your right hand and answer us that your loved ones may escape.7 God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
God promised in the sanctuary: "I will exult, I will apportion Shechem; the valley of Succoth I will measure out.8 Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;
Gilead is mine, mine is Manasseh; Ephraim is the helmet for my head, Judah, my own scepter.9 Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.
Moab is my washbowl; upon Edom I cast my sandal; I will triumph over Philistia."10 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?
Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me into Edom?11 Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts?
Was it not you who rejected us, God? Do you no longer march with our armies?12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
Give us aid against the foe; worthless is human help.13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
We will triumph with the help of God, who will trample down our foes.
