1 At this my heart trembles and leaps out of its place,	1 Mi corazón también por eso tiembla, y salta fuera de su sitio.
2 To hear his angry voice as it rumbles forth from his mouth!	2 ¡Escuchad, escuchad el fragor de su voz, el bramido que sale de su boca!
3 Everywhere under the heavens he sends it, with his lightning, to the ends of the earth.	3 Hace relampaguear por todo el cielo, su fulgor llega a los extremos de la tierra.
4 Again his voice roars-- the majestic sound of his thunder.	4 Detrás de él una voz ruge: truena él con su soberbia voz, y sus rayos no retiene, mientras su voz retumba.
5 He does great things beyond our knowing; wonders past our searching out.	5 Dios nos da a ver maravillas, grandes cosas hace que no comprendemos.
6 For he says to the snow, "Fall to the earth"; likewise to his heavy, drenching rain.	6 Cuando dice a la nieve: «¡Cae sobre la tierra!», y a los aguaceros: «¡Lloved fuerte!»,
7 He shuts up all mankind indoors;	7 la mano de todo hombre retiene bajo sello, para que todos conozcan su obra.
8 the wild beasts take to cover and remain quietly in their dens.	8 Las fieras a sus guaridas huyen y en sus cubiles se cobijan.
9 Out of its chamber comes forth the tempest; from the north winds, the cold.	9 Del sur llega el huracán, el frío, de los vientos del norte.
10 With his breath God brings the frost, and the broad waters become congealed.	10 Al soplo de Dios se forma el hielo, se congela la extensión de las aguas.
11 With hail, also, the clouds are laden, as they scatter their flashes of light.	11 El carga a la nube de un rayo, el nublado esparce su fulgor,
12 He it is who changes their rounds, according to his plans, in their task upon the surface of the earth,	12 y éste, gira girando, circula conforme a sus designios. Así ejecutan sus órdenes en todo sobre la haz de su orbe terráqueo.
13 whether for punishment or mercy, as he commands.	13 Ya como castigo para los pueblos de la tierra, ya como gracia, él los envía.
14 Hearken to this, O Job! Stand and consider the wondrous works of God!	14 Presta, Job, oído a esto, tente y observa los prodigios de Dios.
15 Do you know how God lays his commands upon them, and makes the light shine forth from his clouds?	15 ¿Sabes acaso cómo Dios los rige, y cómo su nube hace brillar el rayo?
16 Do you know how the clouds are banked, the wondrous work of him who is perfect in knowledge?	16 ¿Sabes tú cómo las nubes cuelgan en equilibrio, 7 maravilla de una ciencia consumada?
17 You, whom the streams of water fail when a calm from the south comes over the land,	17 Tú, cuyos vestidos queman cuando está quieta la tierra bajo el viento del sur,
18 Do you spread out with him the firmament of the skies, hard as a brazen mirror?	18 ¿puedes extender con él la bóveda del cielo, sólida como espejo de metal fundido?
19 Teach us then what we shall say to him; we cannot, for the darkness, make our plea.	19 Enséñanos qué le hemos de decir: no discutiremos más, debido a las tinieblas.
20 Will he be told about it when I speak, or when a man says he is being destroyed?	20 Si hablo yo, ¿alguien se lo cuenta? ¿es informado de lo que un hombre ha dicho?
21 Nay, rather, it is as the light which men see not while it is obscured among the clouds, till the wind comes by and sweeps the clouds away.	21 Ahora ya no se ve la luz, que queda oscurecida por las nubes; pero pasa el viento y las despeja,
22 From the North the splendor comes, surrounding God's awesome majesty!	22 y una claridad llega del norte: gloria terrible alrededor de Dios,
23 The Almighty! we cannot discover him, pre-eminent in power and judgment; his great justice owes no one an accounting.	23 ¡es Sadday!, no podemos alcanzarle. Grande en fuerza y equidad, maestro de justicia, sin oprimir a nadie.
24 Therefore men revere him, though none can see him, however wise their hearts.	24 Por eso le temen los hombres: ¡a él la veneración de todos los sabios de corazón!
