1 Then Job spoke again and said:	1 Respondens autem Iob dixit:
2 What help you give to the powerless, what strength to the feeble arm!	2 “ Quomodo adiuvisti imbecillem? Et sustentas brachium eius, qui non est fortis?
3 How you counsel, as though he had no wisdom; how profuse is the advice you offer!	3 Quod dedisti illi consilium, qui non habet sapientiam? Et prudentiam tuam ostendisti plurimam!
4 With whose help have you uttered those words, and whose is the breath that comes forth from you?	4 Quem docere voluisti? Et cuius est spiritus, qui egreditur ex te?
5 The shades beneath writhe in terror, the waters, and their inhabitants.	5 Ecce umbrae gemunt sub aquis, et qui habitant cum eis.
6 Naked before him is the nether world, and Abaddon has no covering.	6 Nudus est infernus coram illo, et nullum est operimentum Perditioni.
7 He stretches out the North over empty space, and suspends the earth over nothing at all;	7 Qui extendit aquilonem super vacuum et appendit terram super nihilum.
8 He binds up the waters in his clouds, yet the cloud is not rent by their weight;	8 Qui ligat aquas in nubibus suis, ut non erumpant pariter deorsum.
9 He holds back the appearance of the full moon by spreading his clouds before it.	9 Qui operit faciem solii sui expandens super illud nebulam suam.
10 He has marked out a circle on the surface of the deep as the boundary of light and darkness.	10 Terminum circumdedit aquis, usque dum finiantur lux et tenebrae.
11 The pillars of the heavens tremble and are stunned at his thunderous rebuke;	11 Columnae caeli contremiscunt et pavent ab increpatione eius.
12 By his power he stirs up the sea, and by his might he crushes Rahab;	12 In fortitudine sua terruit mare et prudentia sua percussit Rahab.
13 With his angry breath he scatters the waters, and he hurls the lightning against them relentlessly; His hand pierces the fugitive dragon as from his hand it strives to flee.	13 Spiritus eius serenavit caelos, et manus eius confodit colubrum fugientem.
14 Lo, these are but the outlines of his ways, and how faint is the word we hear!	14 Ecce haec sunt termini viarum eius; et, cum vix parvam stillam sermonis eius audierimus, quis poterit tonitruum magnitudinis illius intueri? ”.
