¹ But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness.	¹ Decidí por mi cuenta no ir a vosotros otra vez causándoos tristeza.
² For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me?	² Pues si os entristezco yo a vosotros, ¿quién me va a alegrar entonces, cuando el único que puede hacerlo está triste por causa mía?
³ And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.	³ Os escribí precisamente aquello para que, cuando llegara, no me entristecieran aquellos que tenían que alegrarme; de hecho estoy persuadido de que todos tenéis mi alegría por vuestra.
⁴ For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.	⁴ Porque os escribí con muchas lágrimas, debido a una gran aflicción y angustia de corazón; pero no lo hice para entristeceros sino para mostraros el amor tan especial que tengo por vosotros.
⁵ But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.	⁵ Pues si alguno ha causado tristeza, no me la ha causado a mí, sino, en cierto modo y para no exagerar, a todos vosotros.
⁶ Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.	⁶ Bástale a ese tal el correctivo que le ha impuesto la mayoría;
⁷ So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.	⁷ de modo que más vale que lo perdonéis y animéis, no sea que se hunda en una tristeza excesiva.
⁸ Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.	⁸ Por eso, os recomiendo que le confirméis el amor;
⁹ For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.	⁹ os escribí precisamente para esto, para comprobar vuestro temple y ver si obedecíais en todo.
¹⁰ To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;	¹⁰ Lo que vosotros perdonéis a alguien, también yo se lo perdono. Pues lo que yo he perdonado, si algo tengo que perdonar, fue por causa vuestra, teniendo delante a Cristo;
¹¹ Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.	¹¹ quiero evitar ser engañado por Satanás, pues no se me ocultan sus intenciones.
¹² Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,	¹² Llegué a Tróade para anunciar el Evangelio de Cristo y se me abrió una gran puerta en el Señor;
¹³ I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.	¹³ pero, al no encontrar allí a Tito, mi hermano, no me quedé tranquilo; entonces me despedí de ellos y salí para Macedonia.
¹⁴ Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.	¹⁴ Doy gracias a Dios, que siempre nos asocia a la victoria de Cristo y difunde por medio de nosotros en todas partes la fragancia de su conocimiento.
¹⁵ For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:	¹⁵ Porque somos incienso de Cristo ofrecido a Dios, entre los que se salvan y los que se pierden;
¹⁶ To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?	¹⁶ para unos, olor de muerte que mata; para los otros, olor de vida, para vida. Pero, ¿quién es capaz de esto?
¹⁷ For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.	¹⁷ Por lo menos no somos como tantos otros que negocian con la palabra de Dios, sino que hablamos con sinceridad en Cristo, de parte de Dios y delante de Dios.
