2 Corinthians 2

1 But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness.	1 Estoy decidido a no hacerles otra visita que sea para ustedes motivo de tristeza.
2 For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me?	2 Porque si yo los entristezco, ¿quién me podrá alegrar, sino el mismo a quien yo entristecí?
3 And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.	3 Y si les he escrito lo que ustedes ya saben, fue para no apenarme al llegar, a causa de aquellos que debían alegrarme, porque estoy convencido de que mi alegría es también la de ustedes.
4 For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.	4 Verdaderamente les escribí con gran aflicción y angustia, y con muchas lágrimas, no para entristecerlos, sino para demostrarles el profundo afecto que les tengo.
5 But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.	5 Si alguien me entristeció, no me entristeció a mí solamente sino también, en cierta medida –lo digo sin exagerar– a todos ustedes.
6 Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.	6 Pienso que es suficiente el castigo que la mayoría ha impuesto al ofensor.
7 So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.	7 Conviene ahora perdonarlo y animarlo para que el pobre no quede agobiado por una pena excesiva.
8 Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.	8 Por eso, les ruego que en este caso hagan prevalecer el amor.
9 For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.	9 Antes les escribí para ponerlos a prueba y ver si son capaces de obedecer en todo.
10 To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;	10 Pero ahora, yo también perdono al que ustedes perdonaron, y lo hago en la presencia de Cristo por amor de ustedes,
11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.	11 para que Satanás no saque ventaja de nosotros, ya que conocemos bien sus intenciones.
12 Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,	12 Cuando llegué a Tróade para anunciar la Buena Noticia de Jesús, aunque el Señor abrió una puerta para mi predicación,
13 I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.	13 estaba muy preocupado porque no encontré a mi hermano Tito; por eso, me despedí de ellos y partí para Macedonia.
14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.	14 Demos gracias a Dios, que siempre nos hace triunfar en Cristo, y por intermedio nuestro propaga en todas partes la fragancia de su conocimiento.
15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:	15 Porque nosotros somos la fragancia de Cristo al servicio de Dios, tanto entre los que se salvan, como entre los que se pierden:
16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?	16 para estos, aroma de muerte, que conduce a la muerte; para aquellos, aroma de vida, que conduce a la Vida. ¿Y quién es capaz de cumplir semejante tarea?
17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.	17 Pero nosotros no somos como muchos que trafican con la Palabra de Dios, sino que hablamos con sinceridad en nombre de Cristo, como enviados de Dios y en presencia del mismo Dios.
