Proverbs 8

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?	1 La Sagesse n'appelle-t-elle pas? L'Intelligence n'élève-t-elle pas la voix?
2 She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.	2 Au sommet des hauteurs qui dominent la route, au croisement des chemins, elle se poste;
3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.	3 près des portes, à l'entrée de la cité, sur les voies d'accès, elle s'écrie:
4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.	4 "Humains! C'est vous que j'appelle, ma voix s'adresse aux enfants des hommes.
5 O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.	5 Simples! apprenez le savoir-faire, sots, devenez raisonnables.
6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.	6 Ecoutez, j'ai à vous dire des choses importantes, j'ouvre mes lèvres pour dire des paroles droites.
7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.	7 C'est la vérité que mon palais proclame, car le mal est abominable à mes lèvres.
8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.	8 Toutes les paroles de ma bouche sont justes, en elles rien de faux ni de tortueux.
9 They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.	9 Toutes sont franches pour qui les comprend, droites pour qui a trouvé le savoir.
10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.	10 Prenez ma discipline et non de l'argent, le savoir plutôt que l'or pur.
11 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.	11 Car la sagesse vaut mieux que les perles, et rien de ce que l'on désire ne l'égale."
12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.	12 "Moi, la Sagesse, j'habite avec le savoir-faire, je possède la science de la réflexion.
13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.	13 (La crainte de Yahvé est la haine du mal). Je hais l'orgueil et l'arrogance, la mauvaise conduite etla bouche torse.
14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.	14 A moi appartiennent le conseil et la prudence, je suis l'entendement, à moi la puissance!
15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.	15 Par moi règnent les rois et les nobles décrètent le droit;
16 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.	16 par moi gouvernent les princes et les grands, les juges légitimes.
17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.	17 J'aime ceux qui m'aiment, qui me cherche avec empressement me trouve.
18 Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.	18 Chez moi sont la richesse et la gloire, les biens stables et la justice.
19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.	19 Mon fruit est meilleur que l'or, que l'or fin, mes produits meilleurs que le pur argent.
20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:	20 Je marche dans le chemin de la justice, dans le sentier du droit,
21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.	21 pour procurer des biens à ceux qui m'aiment, et remplir leurs trésors.
22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.	22 Yahvé m'a créée, prémices de son oeuvre, avant ses oeuvres les plus anciennes.
23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.	23 Dès l'éternité je fus établie, dès le principe, avant l'origine de la terre.
24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.	24 Quand les abîmes n'étaient pas, je fus enfantée, quand n'étaient pas les sources aux eauxabondantes.
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:	25 Avant que fussent implantées les montagnes, avant les collines, je fus enfantée;
26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.	26 avant qu'il eût fait la terre et la campagne et les premiers éléments du monde.
27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:	27 Quand il affermit les cieux, j'étais là, quand il traça un cercle à la surface de l'abîme,
28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:	28 quand il condensa les nuées d'en haut, quand se gonflèrent les sources de l'abîme,
29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:	29 quand il assigna son terme à la mer, -- et les eaux n'en franchiront pas le bord -- quand il traçales fondements de la terre,
30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;	30 j'étais à ses côtés comme le maître d'oeuvre, je faisais ses délices, jour après jour, m'ébattant toutle temps en sa présence,
31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.	31 m'ébattant sur la surface de sa terre et trouvant mes délices parmi les enfants des hommes.
32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.	32 "Et maintenant, mes fils, écoutez-moi: heureux ceux qui gardent mes voies!
33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.	33 Ecoutez l'instruction et devenez sages, ne la méprisez pas.
34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.	34 Heureux l'homme qui m'écoute, qui veille jour après jour à mes portes pour en garder lesmontants!
35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.	35 Car qui me trouve trouve la vie, il obtient la faveur de Yahvé;
36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.	36 mais qui pèche contre moi blesse son âme, quiconque me hait chérit la mort."
