O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.1 Unto the end. For the oil and wine presses. A Psalm of David.
Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.2 O Lord, our Lord, how admirable is your name throughout all the earth! For your magnificence is elevated above the heavens.
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;3 Out of the mouths of babes and infants, you have perfected praise, because of your enemies, so that you may destroy the enemy and the revenger.
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?4 For I will behold your heavens, the works of your fingers: the moon and the stars, which you have founded.
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.5 What is man, that you are mindful of him, or the son of man, that you visit him?
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:6 You reduced him to a little less than the Angels; you have crowned him with glory and honor,
All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;7 and you have set him over the works of your hands.
The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.8 You have subjected all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and in addition: the beasts of the field,
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!9 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, which pass through the paths of the sea.
O Lord, our Lord, how admirable is your name throughout all the earth!
