1 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.	1 Au maître de chant. Sur “la guittienne”. Psaume de David.
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.	2 Ô Yahvé, notre Seigneur, l’éclat de ton nom est partout sur la terre, ta grandeur dépasse la hauteur des cieux.
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;	3 Même la bouche des enfants et des nourrissons rappelle ta puissance face à l’adversaire et remplit de honte l’ennemi et le rebelle.
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?	4 Quand je vois ton ciel, œuvre de tes doigts, la lune et les étoiles que tu y as fixées,
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.	5 qu’est-ce que le mortel? Et toi tu t’en souviens. Qu’est-ce que le fils d’homme? Et tu veilles sur lui.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:	6 Tu en as fait un peu moins qu’un Dieu, tu l’as couronné de gloire et d’éclat,
7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;	7 tu lui as soumis l’œuvre de tes mains, tu as tout rangé sous ses pieds,
8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.	8 que ce soient les brebis ou les bœufs, ou même les bêtes sauvages
9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!	9 et l’oiseau du ciel et les poissons des mers, pèlerins des routes sous-marines.
	10 Ô Yahvé, notre Dieu, qu’il est grand, ton nom, partout sur la terre.
