1 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.	1 [Für den Chormeister. Nach dem Kelterlied. Ein Psalm Davids.]
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.	2 Herr, unser Herrscher, wie gewaltig ist dein Name auf der ganzen Erde; über den Himmel breitest du deine Hoheit aus.
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;	3 Aus dem Mund der Kinder und Säuglinge schaffst du dir Lob, deinen Gegnern zum Trotz; deine Feinde und Widersacher müssen verstummen.
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?	4 Seh ich den Himmel, das Werk deiner Finger, Mond und Sterne, die du befestigt:
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.	5 Was ist der Mensch, dass du an ihn denkst, des Menschen Kind, dass du dich seiner annimmst?
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:	6 Du hast ihn nur wenig geringer gemacht als Gott, hast ihn mit Herrlichkeit und Ehre gekrönt.
7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;	7 Du hast ihn als Herrscher eingesetzt über das Werk deiner Hände, hast ihm alles zu Füßen gelegt:
8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.	8 All die Schafe, Ziegen und Rinder und auch die wilden Tiere,
9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!	9 die Vögel des Himmels und die Fische im Meer, alles, was auf den Pfaden der Meere dahinzieht.
	10 Herr, unser Herrscher, wie gewaltig ist dein Name auf der ganzen Erde!
