Psalms 57

1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.	1 'Al maestro del coro. Su "Non distruggere". Di Davide.' 'Miktam. Quando fuggì da Saul nella caverna.'
2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.	2 Pietà di me, pietà di me, o Dio, in te mi rifugio; mi rifugio all'ombra delle tue ali finché sia passato il pericolo.
3 He shall send from heaven, and save from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.	3 Invocherò Dio, l'Altissimo, Dio che mi fa il bene.
4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.	4 Mandi dal cielo a salvarmi dalla mano dei miei persecutori, Dio mandi la sua fedeltà e la sua grazia.
5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.	5 Io sono come in mezzo a leoni, che divorano gli uomini; i loro denti sono lance e frecce, la loro lingua spada affilata.
6 They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.	6 Innàlzati sopra il cielo, o Dio, su tutta la terra la tua gloria.
7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.	7 Hanno teso una rete ai miei piedi, mi hanno piegato, hanno scavato davanti a me una fossa e vi sono caduti.
8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.	8 Saldo è il mio cuore, o Dio, saldo è il mio cuore.
9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.	9 Voglio cantare, a te voglio inneggiare: svègliati, mio cuore, svègliati arpa, cetra, voglio svegliare l'aurora.
10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.	10 Ti loderò tra i popoli, Signore, a te canterò inni tra le genti.
11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.	11 perché la tua bontà è grande fino ai cieli, e la tua fedeltà fino alle nubi.
	12 Innàlzati sopra il cielo, o Dio, su tutta la terra la tua gloria.
