1 Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.	1 Prière de David. Entends mon cri, Seigneur, écoute mes réclamations, prête l’oreille à ma prière car elle ne cache aucun mensonge.
2 Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.	2 Je veux que de toi vienne ma sentence, car tes yeux voient ce qui est droit.
3 Thou has proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou has tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.	3 Tu as fouillé mon cœur en visite de nuit, tu m’as mis à l’épreuve du feu et tu n’a rien trouvé qui me fasse honte. Je n’ai pas parlé de travers
4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.	4 comme font les hommes, j’ai gardé ta parole, j’ai suivi ton chemin.
5 Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.	5 Affermis mes pas dans tes sentiers, ne permets pas que mon pied chancelle.
6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.	6 Je t’appelle, mon Dieu, pour que tu me répondes, prête-moi l’oreille, écoute ce que je vais dire.
7 Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.	7 Toi qui fais des merveilles pour tes fidèles, toi qui sauves ceux qui fuient l’agresseur et se réfugient à ton côté,
8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,	8 garde-moi comme la prunelle de tes yeux, place-moi en secret à l’ombre de tes ailes,
9 From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.	9 cache-moi aux violents, à ces méchants, mes ennemis à mort qui déjà m’encerclent.
10 They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.	10 Leur conscience est empâtée et leur bouche est pleine d’arrogance.
11 They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;	11 Ils me surveillent et soudain ils m’encerclent, ils se préparent pour me jeter à terre.
12 Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.	12 Je crois voir un lion impatient de déchirer, ou son lionceau tapi dans sa cachette.
13 Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:	13 Lève-toi, Seigneur, fais face, renverse-le, frappe de l’épée et délivre-moi du méchant.
14 From men which are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.	14 Fais-les périr de ta main, Seigneur, qu’ils ne soient plus comptés parmi les vivants. Fais-leur avaler ce que tu leur réserves; qu’ils en aient le ventre plein et de même leurs fils, et qu’il en reste pour leurs petits-enfants.
15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.	15 Mais moi, dans un matin de justice, je contemplerai ta face; à mon réveil je me rassasierai de ton image.
