Job 11

KING JAMES BIBLE	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,	1 Sofar de Naamá respondió, diciendo:
2 Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?	2 ¿No habrá una respuesta para tanto palabrerío? ¿Tendrá siempre razón el que habla demasiado?
3 Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?	3 ¿Tu locuacidad hará callar a los demás y te burlarás sin que nadie te confunda?
4 For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.	4 Tú has dicho: «Mi doctrina es pura y estoy limpio ante tus ojos».
5 But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;	5 En cambio, si Dios hablara y abriera sus labios contra ti;
6 And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.	6 si te revelara los secretos de la sabiduría, tan sutiles para el entendimiento, sabrías que Dios olvida una parte de tu culpa.
7 Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?	7 ¿Puedes tú escrutar las profundidades de Dios o vislumbrar la perfección del Todopoderoso?
8 It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?	8 Ella es más alta que el cielo: ¿qué puedes hacer tú? Es mas honda que el Abismo: ¿qué puedes entender?
9 The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.	9 Por su extensión, es más larga que la tierra y más ancha que el mar.
10 If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?	10 Si Dios pasa y aprisiona, y si convoca a juicio, ¿quién se lo impedirá?
11 For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?	11 El conoce a los hombres falsos, ve la maldad ¿y no la sabrá discernir?
12 For vain man would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass's colt.	12 Pero un necio asentará cabeza cuando se domestique un asno salvaje de la estepa.
13 If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;	13 En cuanto a ti, si enderezas tu corazón y extiendes tus manos hacia Dios,
14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.	14 si alejas la maldad que hay en tus manos y no dejas que la injusticia habite en tu carpa,
15 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:	15 entonces sí erguirás tu frente inmaculada, estarás firme y nada temerás.
16 Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:	16 Así te olvidarás de las penas, las recordarás como una correntada pasajera.
17 And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.	17 La vida se alzará más radiante que el mediodía, la oscuridad será como una alborada.
18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.	18 Estarás seguro, porque habrá una esperanza; observarás a tu alrededor, y te acostarás tranquilo.
19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.	19 Descansarás sin que nadie te perturbe y muchos tratarán de ganarse tu favor.
20 But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.	20 Pero los ojos de los malvados se consumen, les falta todo refugio y el último suspiro será su única esperanza.
