1 Der Herr sprach zu Mose: Rede zu den Priestern, den Söhnen Aarons, und sag zu ihnen: Keiner von ihnen darf sich an der Leiche eines seiner Stammesgenossen verunreinigen,	1 And the LORD said to Moses, "Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them that none of them shall defile himself for the dead among his people,
2 außer an seinen nächsten Verwandten: seiner Mutter, seinem Vater, seinem Sohn, seiner Tochter oder seinem Bruder.	2 except for his nearest of kin, his mother, his father, his son, his daughter, his brother,
3 An seiner unverheirateten Schwester, die seine nahe Verwandte blieb, da sie keinem Mann angehörte, darf er unrein werden.	3 or his virgin sister (who is near to him because she has had no husband; for her he may defile himself).
4 Nicht aber darf er an seiner Schwester, die mit einem Stammesgenossen verheiratet ist, unrein werden; er würde sich entweihen.	4 He shall not defile himself as a husband among his people and so profane himself.
5 Die Priester sollen sich auf ihrem Kopf keine Glatze scheren, ihren Bart nicht stutzen und an ihrem Körper keine Einschnitte machen.	5 They shall not make tonsures upon their heads, nor shave off the edges of their beards, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.
6 Sie sollen ihrem Gott geheiligt sein und den Namen ihres Gottes nicht entweihen. Denn sie sind es, die die Feueropfer des Herrn, die Speise ihres Gottes, darbringen; darum sollen sie heilig sein.	6 They shall be holy to their God, and not profane the name of their God; for they offer the offerings by fire to the LORD, the bread of their God; therefore they shall be holy.
7 Sie dürfen weder eine Dirne, noch eine Entehrte, noch eine Frau heiraten, die ihr Mann verstoßen hat; denn der Priester ist seinem Gott geweiht.	7 They shall not marry a harlot or a woman who has been defiled; neither shall they marry a woman divorced from her husband; for the priest is holy to his God.
8 Du sollst ihn heilig halten, denn er bringt die Speise deines Gottes dar. Heilig soll er dir sein, denn ich bin heilig, der Herr, der euch heiligt.	8 You shall consecrate him, for he offers the bread of your God; he shall be holy to you; for I the LORD, who sanctify you, am holy.
9 Wenn sich die Tochter eines Priesters als Dirne entweiht, so entweiht sie ihren Vater; sie soll im Feuer verbrannt werden.	9 And the daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by playing the harlot, profanes her father; she shall be burned with fire.
10 Der Priester, der unter seinen Brüdern den höchsten Rang einnimmt, auf dessen Haupt das Salböl ausgegossen wurde und der durch das Anlegen der heiligen Gewänder eingesetzt ist, soll sein Haar nicht lose herunterhängen lassen, seine Kleider nicht zerreißen,	10 "The priest who is chief among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil is poured, and who has been consecrated to wear the garments, shall not let the hair of his head hang loose, nor rend his clothes;
11 sich an keinem Leichnam verunreinigen, auch nicht, wenn es sich um Vater oder Mutter handelt.	11 he shall not go in to any dead body, nor defile himself, even for his father or for his mother;
12 Er soll sich nicht vom Heiligtum entfernen, um nicht das Heiligtum seines Gottes zu entweihen; denn die Weihe des Salböls seines Gottes ist auf ihm. Ich bin der Herr.	12 neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD.
13 Er soll nur eine Jungfrau heiraten.	13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity.
14 Eine Witwe, eine Verstoßene oder eine Entehrte, eine Dirne, darf er nicht heiraten; nur eine Jungfrau aus seinem Stamm darf er zur Frau nehmen;	14 A widow, or one divorced, or a woman who has been defiled, or a harlot, these he shall not marry; but he shall take to wife a virgin of his own people,
15 sonst würde er seine Nachkommenschaft unter seinen Stammesgenossen entweihen; denn ich, der Herr, bin es, der ihn heiligt.	15 that he may not profane his children among his people; for I am the LORD who sanctify him."
16 Der Herr sprach zu Mose:	16 And the LORD said to Moses,
17 Sag zu Aaron: Keiner deiner Nachkommen, auch in den kommenden Generationen, der ein Gebrechen hat, darf herantreten, um die Speise seines Gottes darzubringen.	17 "Say to Aaron, None of your descendants throughout their generations who has a blemish may approach to offer the bread of his God.
18 Denn keiner mit einem Gebrechen darf herantreten: kein Blinder oder Lahmer, kein im Gesicht oder am Körper Entstellter,	18 For no one who has a blemish shall draw near, a man blind or lame, or one who has a mutilated face or a limb too long,
19 kein Mann, der einen gebrochenen Fuß oder eine gebrochene Hand hat,	19 or a man who has an injured foot or an injured hand,
20 keiner mit Buckel, Muskelschwund, Augenstar, Krätze, Flechte oder Hodenquetschung.	20 or a hunchback, or a dwarf, or a man with a defect in his sight or an itching disease or scabs or crushed testicles;
21 Keiner der Nachkommen Aarons, des Priesters, darf herantreten, um die Feueropfer des Herrn darzubringen, wenn er ein Gebrechen hat. Er hat ein Gebrechen, er darf nicht herantreten, um die Speise seines Gottes darzubringen.	21 no man of the descendants of Aaron the priest who has a blemish shall come near to offer the LORD's offerings by fire; since he has a blemish, he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God.
22 Doch darf er von der Speise seines Gottes, von den hochheiligen und heiligen Dingen, essen,	22 He may eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy and of the holy things,
23 aber nicht zum Vorhang kommen und sich nicht dem Altar nähern; denn er hat ein Gebrechen und darf meine heiligen Gegenstände nicht entweihen; denn ich bin der Herr, der sie geheiligt hat.	23 but he shall not come near the veil or approach the altar, because he has a blemish, that he may not profane my sanctuaries; for I am the LORD who sanctify them."
24 Das sagte Mose zu Aaron, zu dessen Söhnen und zu allen Israeliten.	24 So Moses spoke to Aaron and to his sons and to all the people of Israel.
